  1. Unfortunately that's what has been allowed to happen, yes when you make it and ride for a few teams more bikes/ personal are required, but how many youngsters now believe that they can be/ are full time speedway riders scoring a couple of points at reserve. Think some riders need a job and ride speedway as a paid hobby
  2. Workington have a fans sponsorship available for riders fuel oil and tyres, you get your name in the program, couple of free tickets and a track walk etc. Will be availability if anyone is interested, contact the club 😄
  3. Gary clegg come on down you have won bullies star prize of a speedboat 😁 thanks to Google
  4. Think for the individual club streams a third goes to the stream provider, third to the club and a third goes to the BSPL that's on top of the provider buying a licence to film meetings. Don't know the financial parts for BSN
  5. Will have to dig me programs out to see who you are, I was part of the track staff in this season 85
  6. Only if he puts in a full season, but still has to potential to be a number 1 IMO
  7. Several names came to Workington in the various Ian Thomas era's, 3 of them, early 70's. A Junior year in 85, then the return in 99 . Love him or hate him Ian was always a showman. Can remember a Jim Bowen (bullseye) comedy night in 85 was brilliant but could not repeat it today, due to the content 😁
  8. Well a last 3 I've heard off someone out of Workington, is cook starke and trigger, I bloomin hope not
  9. Are you stopping driving your laal bus so you can go every week 🙃
  10. He did a great personal appearance at Workington in the early 70's 😄
  11. Part of me gets this, but as you know most promotions are only breaking even at the very best, look at Plymouth the boss has stated he has lost 350k over 7 years !!! So if 2H 2A that's potentially more money for the clubs to lose, but if it stays 1H 1A more clubs may stand s chance of breaking even via help from sponsorship
  12. Unfortunately they are in it for their own good, it's a closed shop. Wasn't Matt ford high up on a committee at one time, but others did not want to do what was suggested. That's why a totally independent person/ group would have to be in charge, but can't see it happening
  13. Didn't them in charge a few years back sugest a fans forum type thing, where a fan from each club would take forward comments/suggestions from fellow fans to them in charge, but can't remember if anything happened
  14. Suits are sponsored, at some teams, the company or a fan pays for the suit and at the end of season it's yours to keep, that's what Workington do 😀
  15. With the cold weather up and down the country, I predict it could be colder inside at the AGM is it still scheduled for Tuesday ??
  16. But until the AGM nothing is totally agreed, things may change last minute. Is the AGM still on Tuesday? Seen nothing to confirm or deny the date !!
  17. Think you'll need to pop to Bournemouth to get a big rock dummy for one of your Aussies, as he's spat one out already back home 😄
  18. Only after a few pints in the pub or at speedway on an away trip 🙃😝
  19. Fame at last thanks @LisaColette 🙃 got to keep the pilots fans on their toes 😛
  20. Fame at last thanks @LisaColette 🙃 got to keep the pilots fans on their toes 😛
  21. But Osborne knows people with lots of money to develop places, and like all other councils who are nearly bankrupt, they may want some easy money 🫠
  22. If people don't think about expanding speedway or building new tracks to replace closed down tracks, the sport will die even faster than them in charge are doing now. Remember Poole dispite bringing in the fans has Osborne behind the scene, so you could be without a stadium anytime. Property money talks better than speedway money
  23. Or maybe like Workington good track based on belle Vue and facilities that grow as each season comes along
  24. May hear someone at the same time as the AGM. Then again will that happen on the 6th January??
