Bike time should do him good. I think his place in the team is safe until his average drops below 5, when it’s about to drop below 5 that’s when I think you have to take action.

Redcar v Poole Friday 15/05/26
ASpeedwayfan replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not suggesting foul play, the forecast was terrible (according to BBC) and I think it’s fair to say Redcar will be happy that they can stage the meeting when they have a stronger team available. The postponement benefitted Redcar but I like watching the pirates round Redcar so hopefully next week the sun will be out and there will be a stream. -
Redcar v Poole Friday 15/05/26

Think Redcarr will be quietly happy this meeting didn’t go ahead. No Mulford and Jody with that nasty crash yesterday wouldn’t have been near 100%, especially as he withdrew from the meeting. -
Glasgow vs Plymouth CL 08/05/26
ASpeedwayfan replied to IainB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Glasgow to win. But would expect Plymouth to keep it close enough to take the aggregate point at home -
Looked a nasty one. Especially for Luke, speedy recovery for both. would be surprised if Jody rides tomorrow. Guest wise they’ll struggle to match his scoring potential, but plenty of options
-
No Thankyou, no disrespect to Lambert. But if Bowes was to be replaced (I would give him more time) I’d want it to be another upcoming rider. A Nagel type signing
-
Replacing Bowes for Gilkes wouldn’t make sense as it would be too big of drop in team building points. Gilkes is unlucky and hopefully he gets a chance as a pirate soon. As for Bowes he’s on borrowed time now, as soon as his avg gets close to officially being less 5.0 then I think Poole should look abroad for a replacement. Hopefully he turns his fortunes around
-
Correct decision, I think it’s still likely that Gilkes will come in to replace Newman. But maybe there will be a surprise and it will be Bowes who departs
-
Id of thought that it would be a fine straight swap? As Bowes average is higher than Gilkes? I’d of thought that would be fine. Can’t let Neman go in this form, however if Gilkes is not 110% then I’d still keep the struggling Bowes
-
Bowes deserves a bit more time to show Poole what he can do imo. But he won’t have unlimited time, his ave has already dropped slightly. Tough meeting tonight for him, he’s shown glimpses of looking super fast round Poole, especially from the tapes, hopefully a good night for him tonight.

Yep, and Kyle I’m sure will be picked up after a great start to the season

I think a pirates win, but with nothing riding on the bonus point who knows who will get it. I’m sure we will see a lot better racing in this leg than the first. reserves will be vital, I don’t see the Oxford boys scoring as many here as they did at home. Other than that I think the pirates can match or beat their opposite number. Interested in particular to how Bowes and Newman get on

Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg
ASpeedwayfan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Poole were poor but, Rushen gave it 110% and I thought was impressive, sadly he’s a racer and the track was a railway. Cairns did his job, Bowes was poor. -

12 points not bad considering how poor the start was. The performance was as bad as the track. -
Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg
ASpeedwayfan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Should be a good meeting, pirates stronger at reserve but Oxford perhaps stronger everywhere else(especially at home) Riss and Masters will be extremely difficult to beat and I’m sure Rowe will be fired up to prove a point. Oxford to win, Poole to keep it close and take the agg -
Echo this, I’m not even sure if it’s 4H4A for new riders anymore. I assume Poole can’t sign Newman with the attention of swapping him for Gilkes at a later date either? I’d of liked to see Gilkes, but Newman is undroppable. He’s been excellent thus far.

Poole v Scunthorpe 8/4/26 KO cup

Would be funny if we see Bowes or Newman drop to reserve
