Congratulations to all those clubs who didn’t act on their problems this season, therefore offering sub standard below par entertainment to the paying customers home and away. No congratulations though to the club that did act , addressed their problem, kept up the entertainment home and away to the paying public and achieved what is looking like a successful season. Ipswich will never get a better chance to beat Belle Vue , considering Kurtz didn’t try in 2 of his 4 rides and couldn’t be arsed going out in 15 . Doyley tried all night as ever but he couldn’t be arsed in 15 also . Sad night for the fallen champions.

Other than Leicester then and obviously Ipswich, the others have at least two riders who don’t race in the championship and therefore only at an higher level. If Lawson races against these two riders in separate races , that’s half his programmed rides for the meeting against higher than championship opposition. That’s all I’m trying to say . Big fish in a small pond in the championship.

The other 5 teams in the premiership have around 3 riders who don’t double up and more than hold their own over in Poland. That’s what I mean. The championship on the other hand , different story

A golden opportunity was wasted by not using Tai to appeal to potential future supporters, the younger generation. They can relate to him definitely. I took my daughters to Belle Vue to see Great Britain in the World Cup a few years ago and he immediately grabbed their attention . They’d never been before but he stood out a mile to them. They still ask about him now. I think he could have inspired younger newcomers to the sport. Whatever he does, he’ll succeed. Definitely.
