  1. I still can’t find official team announcements from either sides. If someone could point me in the correct direction I’d appreciate it.
  2. Any updates on either Cook or PK? I see both are missing from the Oxford side. Would be great to have both back this weekend.
  3. 3 riders unable to compete, 1 guest injured, forecast for thunderstorms. The cancellation is not a surprise. As a fan I’d love to see help brought in but where that could come from is beyond me.
  4. Dan Thompson injured and not riding for Glasgow tonight.
  5. As Plymouth is already in the general vicinity being at Edinburgh today. I guess it gives the Berwick promotion the option to see if the forecast changes. But I’d be very surprised if the meeting happens.
  6. Yes I’m talking about this Saturday v Plymouth. This Saturday the forecast is for rain all day.
  7. Forecast for Saturday is rubbish. I would be more shocked if the meeting goes ahead than if it is called off. I hope not a wet track at Shielfield is always entertaining.
  8. It definitely should. Know I’m an absolute bore but there should be no assumptions or guesses on this. I know speedway is worse than the masons for secrets but the SCB should be 100% transparent otherwise how can there be parity in speedway.
  9. I think the important part is there should be absolutely no speculation or doubt. If a governing body of any sport imposes sanctions it should be very clearly explained. I have no interest in the now resolved issues at Workington but I am, and think everyone should be interested in clarity from the SCB regarding the points deduction. They should not be allowed to impose sanctions without explanation.
  10. Exactly, if a rule has been broken that requires the points deduction. The SCB should be publishing a full statement outlining the rule and breach. Much the same as other forms of professional motorsport.
  11. There was some decent racing but that was a tough watch from a Berwick perspective.
  12. I fully agree my 14 year old loves the racing but if we lived equal distance from two tracks the only thing that would sway her loyalty is visibility. I buy the star most weeks not once has she even picked one up. She isn’t fussed about supporting a team but she really enjoys following her favourite riders. And guess who they are, the ones with the biggest social media presence. And the ones who bother to come and interact with the crowd after the meeting. If you want to target a new younger audience that’s how you get them.
  13. I attended all my clubs home matches and pay £20+ £3.50 for a program I also take my two kids who get free entry. They both get food and a drink and a sweet and more often than not we spend a fiver on raffle tickets. This normal comes to £20-£30. Would I pay £30 to get in? possibly. I may be more fussy about which meetings i attend. Would I be feeding the kids before we head to the track and sticking a bag of sweets and a bottle of juice in their pockets? Definitely. Putting the price up is just going to push people further away imo.
  14. Workington isn’t my team and I don’t particularly care what the issues are. I am however very pleased to see positive signs with the new company being formed and report of bikes being heard on track. I can’t honestly believe any true speedway fan would want a club to go under, even if it’s for no other reason than it’s one less home meeting for the other championship clubs. Hopefully this is a sign things are being resolved and normal service can resume promptly. I look forward to Workington’s visit to Berwick.
  15. He was going to be but cook is fit now. It has changed on the latest update on the website.
  16. Would he not be on another 7 day ban regardless of how he is feeling?
  17. Are Scott and Greg still doing total access? I’ve not seen one in a while.
  18. There’s quite a lot of other sport in easy reach of Berwick. Especially if you like bike racing. Lots of rugby clubs about, there’s also that big green thing in the middle of the speedway track.
  19. Sedgemen guests for Cook and R/R for Hume against Oxford on Wednesday
  20. I hope this prediction is as accurate as your last.
  21. Beyond your passive aggressive angry little person response. Thank you for pointing this out I’d missed it. That’s exactly the kind of statements I’d expect in this situation even if it was over due. I sincerely wish the comets all the best.
  22. Seriously, it’s that attitude that brings this sport down. I’ve no skin in the game but as someone who quite happily puts money aside each week to attend my club. If I were a working fan I’d be a bit p’d off. Do I think the fans deserve a news letter outlining everything, no. A polite statement to say “we are doing our best and we appreciate your patience” would go a long way. For me speedway is a get together for three generations of our family. We love our trackside evenings out but if that’s in doubt we would spend the money the clubs need elsewhere. In an age of social media and public image speedway needs to do better. The days of waiting for the star to come out are gone. What could really save the sport is public engagement not secrecy.
  23. I can’t talk for speedway bikes because I’ve never ridden one but my carbed road bike has many breather and overflow pipes, most of which are just angled down towards the road. sorry I’ve quoted the wrong comment there it was supposed to be your previous one.
