  1. Flint and Battye were the stars of the meeting. Really impressed with Battye especially I said at p+p he looked the real deal. Not sure what Bombers issue was but he looked less than average tonight which was most strange. Exciting season ahead at Berwick I think, with a team that should be capable of away wins aswell.
  2. I think jack has to be showing he can improve and at least up his average to what he originally joined on. Can’t be too hard on Reid until he has a few home matches under his belt but he needs to be proving he is worth the 4 point spend or it negates Morris’s bargain average. I think it will be closer than last night but as you say we will need some stand out performances to take the win.
  3. That will the photos that are doing the rounds. Looks spectacular just not typical speedway weather.
  4. How wet was it? Some of the online photos make the place look like a swamp. Ashfield is probably the best prepared track in the country it surely can’t have been as bad as the photos suggest.
  5. Could be a tough one for Berwick. Some of the bandits have had little track time. lasse has done well at Berwick in the past, Palovaara hasn’t ridden here much, Battye never been round the place competitively. I think if the new bandits can hit the ground running it will be close but some of the Tigers know the place like the back of their hand. Hopefully a close meeting with a bandits win of course 😉
  6. Not sure I understand what you are saying, definitely improving forecast but still doubtful. I think what I was trying to get at was any extra tigers fans coming down because of a missed meeting will only improve Saturday.
  7. Very doubtful that Friday goes ahead but Saturday looks ok always a good atmosphere when Glasgow visits.
  8. Fantastic job by Wood. He was very consistent for Berwick last year. Hopefully he is making another step forward this year. Definitely wouldn’t have minded him being back a Berwick this year.
  9. Yes in the hour since I first posted Ive WhatsApped some mates. I don’t communicate with people via carrier pigeon.
  10. I’ve been speaking with some friends I’ve made at Shielfield including one who is a club sponsor and I most definitely am not alone in that view.
  11. I have no wish for Oxford to fail but changing Berwick fixtures for Oxford doesn’t seem right. If nothing else how many other teams would have that luxury? Berwick fans pay their money just the same as any other club’s supporters.
  12. I may be alone in this but I suspect other Berwick supporters may feel similarly, rearranging Berwick fixtures to suit Oxford doesn’t sit particularly well. I hope this isn’t an indication as to who the priority is.
  13. Turns out I was completely wrong
  14. Yes that is exactly the clip I had seen, it looked horrific. I think the only way to avoid that exact scenario is banning pit entrances on corners. Easier said then done though. As a matter of rider protection I think any fence lifting is a huge issue. It’s never going to be a safe sport but more needs to be done to mitigate risk.
  15. I more imagined flush or recessed eyelets secured by very short strapping or clips but I understand what you’re saying. It’s would be trial and error to start with as I don’t think the money exists to do development that isn’t on a live track.
  16. Jamie did say from the get go they would be racing this week I’m not sure he would have done that is he wasn’t certain.
  17. I’m sure this has been discussed many times before by more intelligent and better informed people than me, but with Tobias’s injury’s and a clip from Poland doing the rounds I’ve been wondering what can be done to stop safety fencing lifting? More and more often a rider or riders have an incident where the bike hits the fencing first and lifts it leaving the rider to go underneath and impacting with whatever is behind. My opinion is that attaching them to the concrete below the shale might make a difference. Possibly eyelets in the concrete to attach to? let’s be honest we all like a little off but people being hurt or worse is not what anyone wants to see.
  18. Update on bandits website. This will not take place this Saturday.
  19. Could Northampton accommodate a champ club even temporarily while the greyhound issue is worked on?
  20. Well done Berwick. They didn’t have to do that. We all moan about stuff from time to time. But this and the winter YouTube meetings have been very welcome so let’s give credit where it’s due.
  21. Thanks for that took the sting off not being trackside this evening.
  22. Gutted but not surprised. I’ve just been into town and it’s very soggy.
  23. Reid looked good at p+p also. It was incredibly wet at Glasgow and I can’t imagine he has ever ridden a speedway bike in those conditions before. I timed a few laps at p+p and he was within .5 of a second of (an admittedly not fully fit) Morris. I think once he gets in the swing of riding uk track he will be a bright talent. Tonight’s meeting vs the monarchs is off unfortunately.
