Yes in the hour since I first posted Ive WhatsApped some mates. I don’t communicate with people via carrier pigeon.
-
I’ve been speaking with some friends I’ve made at Shielfield including one who is a club sponsor and I most definitely am not alone in that view.
-
I have no wish for Oxford to fail but changing Berwick fixtures for Oxford doesn’t seem right. If nothing else how many other teams would have that luxury? Berwick fans pay their money just the same as any other club’s supporters.
-
I may be alone in this but I suspect other Berwick supporters may feel similarly, rearranging Berwick fixtures to suit Oxford doesn’t sit particularly well. I hope this isn’t an indication as to who the priority is.

Turns out I was completely wrong

Yes that is exactly the clip I had seen, it looked horrific. I think the only way to avoid that exact scenario is banning pit entrances on corners. Easier said then done though. As a matter of rider protection I think any fence lifting is a huge issue. It’s never going to be a safe sport but more needs to be done to mitigate risk.
-
I more imagined flush or recessed eyelets secured by very short strapping or clips but I understand what you’re saying. It’s would be trial and error to start with as I don’t think the money exists to do development that isn’t on a live track.
-
Jamie did say from the get go they would be racing this week I’m not sure he would have done that is he wasn’t certain.

I’m sure this has been discussed many times before by more intelligent and better informed people than me, but with Tobias’s injury’s and a clip from Poland doing the rounds I’ve been wondering what can be done to stop safety fencing lifting? More and more often a rider or riders have an incident where the bike hits the fencing first and lifts it leaving the rider to go underneath and impacting with whatever is behind. My opinion is that attaching them to the concrete below the shale might make a difference. Possibly eyelets in the concrete to attach to? let’s be honest we all like a little off but people being hurt or worse is not what anyone wants to see.

Update on bandits website. This will not take place this Saturday. -
Could Northampton accommodate a champ club even temporarily while the greyhound issue is worked on?

Well done Berwick. They didn’t have to do that. We all moan about stuff from time to time. But this and the winter YouTube meetings have been very welcome so let’s give credit where it’s due. -

Thanks for that took the sting off not being trackside this evening. -

Gutted but not surprised. I’ve just been into town and it’s very soggy. -
Reid looked good at p+p also. It was incredibly wet at Glasgow and I can’t imagine he has ever ridden a speedway bike in those conditions before. I timed a few laps at p+p and he was within .5 of a second of (an admittedly not fully fit) Morris. I think once he gets in the swing of riding uk track he will be a bright talent. Tonight’s meeting vs the monarchs is off unfortunately.

There’s been a lot less rain in Berwick today than originally forecast fingers crossed it’s the same tomorrow. -

I agree they won’t be last. I think 4 different teams have a shot at the 4th playoff spot and Edinburgh are one of them. -

Will the toilets be open on Saturday they were locked for p+p. Quite the oversight considering a decent attendance. Had to take my little lad outside to pee against a wall. -
Good scoring by both PK and Jye for their premiership teams last night. Hopefully the bandits will hit the ground running this weekend. Fingers crossed the weather stays nice.

Yes as a precaution, he had a slight knee injury. He has been confirmed as fully fit by Berwick for this weekends meetings.

I found that odd also. Second choice of gates and picked the worst. -

You may be right but high risk insurance is incredibly expensive. A neighbour of mine who does rallying doesn’t insure his car because it’s around 40k for a two day event. -
I know it was just practice but I was impressed with Reid Battye this evening. Really looking forward to next Saturday.

I’d be very surprised if Kemp joined Redcar. Simply because he wants to make a name for himself in Poland and it’s a logistical nightmare to ride a uk weekend track with his current club.
