Somehow we are having a great and terrible start to the season. We are quite used to bad luck at Shielfield unfortunately. Fingers crossed we can get some good guests as I’m not sure who could be a temporary replacement for either. But if there’s someone available the Berwick management will find them if last year is anything to go by.

Glasgow v Edinburgh, BSN, Sunday 3 May 3pm

I will happily pay full price if they get a camera stabiliser (camera work was forgivable) but a commentator who has next to no clue what’s going on not so. The racing at Glasgow is brilliant but I can’t listen to the guy who doesn’t know the names of the home riders ( when did Kevin Peter sign?) or even the team name of the opponents Plymouth Devils. But absolutely the worst part is when he talks over the other guy, who really seems to know how to do the job. -
Enjoy that tonight. Could hear everything clearly, some decent racing, big home win and the aggregate point. Daughter got some signatures on her program she filled in herself for the first time. My son was looking for Buddy the bandit but couldn’t see him. Anyone know why he hasn’t been around this season?

Im not sure Sam is someone who could be “payed off” he is from a family with a long speedway and motorcycle racing history. Not to mention they have plenty of money of their own. I’m quite sure Sam dosnt struggle financially in his speedway career.

Workington were wrong for signing him in the first place even as a stop gap that wasn’t good for his confidence. He isn’t ready. I’d read a bit about how far behind he was but hadn’t realised how true it was until I saw. He was around 3/4 of a lap behind at Berwick. The lad needs another year or two at development league level. I’m not sure even the most staunch Poole hater could have seriously complained if they had done the same.

I think they have got the guest situation spot on for this weekend. Dayle is doing well and good on him. He never lacked in effort last year I’m chuffed it’s paying off for him. He knows the Edinburgh track well. Along with VP and Lasse’s knowledge we might just sneak a win. Sam had some really top notch races for Berwick and should do ok on Saturday. Obviously gutted to not have Reid as he was showing he has something a bit special. Hopefully he heals up quickly and we get to see plenty more of him this year.

If you find that somewhat threatening you must feel threatened an awful lot. He didn’t say it was the worst decision he has seen in speedway he said it was the worst decision since his first marriage. Which was obviously a bit tongue in cheek playing to the crowd. he did obviously over step the mark a bit and heading up to the referees box at the time he did was a bad look but I will add he was only in the referees box for a few seconds the rest of the time he was in the media box. I enjoy Greg’s commentary on centre green. The incident has been reported to the SCB so it’s upto them now. We all have bad days at work. -
Poor kid should never have been signed. I do hope his confidence isn’t completely shattered.

I have streamed two meetings this week and I was surprised at how dry Workington was. Racing at Glasgow was better but I’m more likely to buy the Workington one again as the stream was better quality. The commentary was clear the camera actually followed the riders and there was no terrible itv style adverts during grading

I was on the main strait and the improvement was night and day hopefully something can be done to fix the back strait issue.

I like Greg but it wasn’t a great look after voicing his opinion that he headed up to the referees box. He may have said absolutely nothing but it didn’t look good. He probably overstepped the mark but there’s also a degree of people just looking for something to be angry with after the result. -
Not to nitpick on an excellent win but what was morris doing racing Battye on an almost guaranteed 5-1? The only thing I can think of is they had agreed the finishing order before the race. Even so he should have sat behind Battye and then given him a kick up the arse back in the pits. Risking a crash between teammates completely unnecessarily isn’t on. Kind of soured an absolutely brilliant performance by Nick this evening.

Fingers crossed Battye is ok. On a positive note well done to the club for getting the speaker situation sorted.
