  1. British Embassy?? Surely it would be the Czech Embassy unless Smetana is a British citizen.
  2. Oh yes, all those extra rides for Lee Richardson
  3. Well I suppose there was the little matter of that blank space in the Belle Vue programme
  4. I'm generally sceptical of how much value a TM can add to a team's performance, but in many ways Mr Dickson was very much the Lions match winner yesterday.
  5. When he signed for Newcastle the UK was still in the EU. You may have noticed that since then we've left.
  6. He is in Leicester's named 7 per the green sheets (until Monday anyway)
  7. That's a great encapsulation of British league speedway. However with a few exceptions ( e.g. BL2/NL in the 70s) that's pretty much been the state for over 50 years
  8. No Stella and Wajtkneckt in ht 13 - is it past their bedtime?
  9. On what basis does Smetana qualify for a work permit? (He was only 9th in the Czech Championship last year)
  10. Forecast has continued to improve, so it's looking like a thumbs up
  11. But that would involve Keleher being in the line up of both teams!
  12. Well the SpeedwayGB website (Championship table page) clearly states: PLAY-OFF PICTURE - HOW IT WORKS- League Championship to be decided by play-offs (All play-off ties raced over two legs) Any the wiser? Me neither?
  13. Have just checked my records and spotted two others: Paul Starke and (for 1 match only) Ed Kennett.
  14. I would put money on i9t as I can only think four Brits who have ridden in the French League - and three of them are Ellis, Harris and Brennan
  15. Will have to be very short term as Dan will get an average soon (18th I think), and after that I doubt if Kennedy will fit.
  16. The ban has not been lifted. Punishment has been suspended, pending the hearing of his appeal. However there must be a good chance that when the appeal is heard the punishment will be reduced.
  17. Favourites must be Jansson and Zetterstrom. I know Jansson Is the great grandson of World finalist Joel, is Manfred the son of Magnus?
  18. Dag Lovaas was only 25 during his final British season (1976), having reached the world final in 1974 and won the league with a 10pt+ average in 1973 riding for Reading. He also averaged over 10 for Hackney (74) and Oxford (75). I believe his retirement was complete and he did not ride domestically after leaving British speedway.
  19. Very much a case of marmite. I'm with Brian, but I appreciate that some people do enjoy shtick.
  20. One look at the rainfall radar at 5pm told me I was right not to travel. See you next Tuesday weather permitting.
  21. Indeed I recently saw him three times in three days (riding for three different teams!). He was excellent in one, rubbish in one and ok in the third.
