Wasn't the first final 'all six back' after Lebedevs and Doyle clashed on the first bend? Second running was Doyle steaming under Lebedevs. -

On the plus side: Done by 9.30pm Only 4 reruns - all for riders moving at start Track rode well Crowd around 400 On minus: Starting gate malfunction so green light starts Failure to inform crowd of team changes Burger van late (good job I stopped at West Row chippie). Overall an encouraging start

Poole didn't stage any meetings in 2020, so no. Nor did Ipswich [Although they very nearly ran the 2020 British Final, but it got moved to Belle Vue at the last minute]

Is Shielfield the only British track to stage a meeting every season since 1996?

Think you'll have to go to Holsted if you want to see Knudsen. -
A huge future indeed, but for perspective the last two 16 year old who made such a stellar impact were Drew Kemp and Jordan Palin. PS. On what I've seen this year he could soon be overtaken by Cooper Rushen and that may take some of the pressure (which has been immense) off him which can only be good for his development.

I'd forgotten about them.

Abbreviated accounts are not very informative so it is hard to be certain. I suspect note 4 and accounting policy 2.6 of the amended 2023 accounts are the key. Or alternatively it may be mis-accounting for transfer of BSPA funds into BSPL in 2020 (is there a fund where members bonds are held that was not initially included?) But I also note that 2020 was covid year, so could it be mis-treatment of deferred TV rights income? How about covid loans that subsequently were converted into grants without the change being reflected in the accounts? My question is what is that £200k plus in stock? [Retired chartered accountant]

GP line-up for 2026
arnieg replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
With the exception of Fricke there are substantive arguments against everyone else. All the other GP riders were simply mediocre. Nobody could be said to be unlucky in the Challenge. The SEC will give us Dudek (either as winner or 4th wildcard - all his closest competitors are already in), there are no consistently impressive performers in the major leagues that haven't already been accounted for. And that just leaves Emil and Artem. Assuming we don't expect a 5th Pole the best candidates are: Highest ranked rider in 2025 GP series not already qualified: Mikkel Michelsen [or Doyle if you take account of his missed GP] Highest averaged rider in Ekstraliga: Michelsen again Highest averaged rider in Elitserien: Ryan Douglas Highest averaged rider in Premiership: Douglas again [or Doyle if you include KO Cup matches] So based on results it has to be Michelsen and Doyle or Douglas - but I suspect commercial considerations will override the evidence. -

Probably Knudsen and possibly Gusts unavailable due to DSL final. - not that unavailability generally stops Oxford management organising a fixture.

Shareholders in Speedway Futures Ltd Along with Paul Mullaly, Vicky Blackwell, Miriam Bentley, Jason Holmes - do these names mean anything to you? [There are other shareholders with whom I am familiar including Neil Clayton, Phil Morris and Nicola Jamieson]

Which begs the question who are David Rodwell, Jamie Dobb et al?

The West Midlands can support more than one team. However dense urbanisation means a lack of suitable sites. Berwick and King's Lynn have both survived for over 50 years. The problem for Northampton is not population based, it is that there is no history of speedway in Northampton [just 1929-30 in town, and 54/5 & 66/7 @ Brafield - all at a fairly rudimentary level]
-
Northampton, a mere 5 miles away has a population of 240,000+.

Industry Hills. It is basically a large cattle shed https://www.speedwaybikes.com/tracks/industryhills.htm

I would also say (and I have said this in print) that Belle Vue has the best track shop in Britiah speedway (Glasgow are the only other serious contender)

No it wasn't. I spent a lot of time looking at forecasts and rainfall radar yesterday (as I went to Wight Warriors). The forecasts all predicted light showers starting somewhere between 7 and 9 with possibly heavier rain arriving between 9 and 11. None of that falls into the category of 'very bad'. And throughout the day the rainfall radar suggested those forecasts were accurate. It didn't start raining in Poole until around 9pm and unless you have the worst prepared track in speedway the meeting should easily have been completed before it became unrideable. [And anyway where rain is threatened most meetings are completed by 9pm anyway]

This 100%. And in this case it would make score 43-44 or 43-45 (depending in whether Crewe could be lapped by a non-existant rider)

Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1
arnieg replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is that the rider who has increased his GSA by over a point this season? Who scored 7 or more in 13 consecutive matches prior to KL away? Who has the 11th= best away average in the league this year? -

That plastic disc is clearly not a coin, as specified in the rules. Yet another clear breach of the regulations 🤣
