Glasgow Tigers Vs Poole Pirates 6/6/25
arnieg replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Whether or not you beat your team mate is largely irrelevant. The logical way to do it is: 2 pts for a win or a paid win 1 pt for second behind opponent 1 for third behind team mate or third in a 4-2 0 pts for last or third in a 1-5. -

Of course CMAs include bonus points and they have going back 50 plus years. Bonus points are not meaningless as you can't get one without beating an opponent, therefore in some respects and in some contexts can be regarded as a better measure than GSAs of a rider's worth to his team. -
Manipulation implies seeking an unfair advantage. Given we are dealing with young riders not ready to be full time rising stars [who at best will pick up a couple of points from the opposing RS] this strikes me as King's Lynn trying to navigate muddled regulations in a situation they didn't ask for.

Favourite Speedway manager.

One could argue that Tim Sugar single handedly won Racers the KO Cup in 1990 (Belle Vue fans will know what I mean), so team managers can make a difference. My bugbear is ex-riders who have never read or struggle to understand the rulebook. Appoint them as a coach by all means, but (as with Wayne Rooney in football) they should be nowhere near the manager position. -
Looking at the stats I'd say Sheffield's problem is two riders with absolutely massive (Exeter sized) home/away differentials. 4.8 (Pickering) and 4.7 Rowe Unless that can be sorted the Tigers are never going to do much away.

But with the 5% uplift there are better guest options at home [notably Zac Cook] -
Bournemouth FC?

Would be a good time to suggest that Sam Masters try and pick up as many bonus points as possible [I'd be tempted to move him to 3 or 4 and put Dougy at 5]

On my preferred forecaster it's the other way round https://www.yr.no/en/forecast/daily-table/2-2643123/United Kingdom/England/Manchester/Manchester Either way there is clearly a genuine threat of rain. We also know that Belle Vue drains well and that Phil Morris will pull out all the stops to make it happen (cf last year's SON2)

They've already got six six pointers - what do they need another one for? And at 31 he's probably not got much improvement in him.
