Never a great fan, but I was always impressed by his ability (in GPs, against the very best) to pick a line coming out of bend 2 and weave his way past his opponents on the back straight (like Lambert last night)

He doesn't currently have a Polish team (which may have something to do with his unreliability)

Lions vs Foxes PL R2 02/07/26 19:30
arnieg replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sun break. Racing now resuming -
Amazingly there is a cross country train that goes DIRECT. It does take 9 hours though. And for a random Saturday (and Sunday return) it quotes a quite reasonable £112 (before railcard)

As far as I can tell the only available racenights are: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Take out: Sunday - Poland (Cook, Masters, Lawson, McDiarmid, Rushen, Cairns) Mon & Thur - Prem. Fri - between Poland and all the Friday Champ fixtures not easy Sat: doubt Jamie would want to have Oxford and Berwick running together Tues - no Swedish clashes, but four riders have Polish under 24 teams. However Polish under 24 league is all but done by end of July. So maybe a Tuesday in August?

No chance, easy win ... ... for the DRC 😉

The Sprint Race Debate
arnieg replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
For there to be a debate it requires both sides to be argued. Is there anyone out there to argue in favour of sprint races? Anyone? -
Ipswich v Kings Lynn 18th June
arnieg replied to cowboy cookie returns?'s topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Most programme's contain little of relevance to the visitors other than team profile so an insert with team profile of new visitors on the back makes sense. -
From the latest Cheetah's Chronicle: Another Dane, Marcus Birkemose with paid twelve for Krosno Wolves, provided the most interesting story of the day. Back in 2022 18-year-old Marcus, already regarded as a difficult rider to handle, counted among the hottest prospects in speedway. That all came crashing down when he received a two year ban for smoking marijuana. He made a quiet return last season riding for Gdansk in the Polish third tier (and Slangerup back in Denmark). This year he’s moved to Krosno and has been scoring freely. From what I saw he hasn’t lost his ability to work the track, switching lines in an instant, the sort of rider it is a joy to watch. If his ‘Kevin the teenager’ years are well and truly behind him he could still go far in the sport. oops

British final 15th August
arnieg replied to Neila's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
And while we have King, Lawson, Wright and Harris they have Berntzon, Thorssell, Nilsson and Lahti. Currently the best Swedes under 30 are probably Filip Hjelmland (27) and Rasmus Karlsson (18). The latter is a real prospect but elsewhere talent is thin on the ground. -
That includes bonus. Without bonus 1.167

Oxford Chargers v King’s Lynn Young Stars 10/6/26 19:30
arnieg replied to NumberEight's topic in National League Speedway
And: No early call off in the face of very poor weather forecasts Only one fall, and only one rerun Plenty of passing A tight match with uncertain outcome (until ht 13) An early finish Easily the best meeting of the season at Sandy Lane.
