John, and now Glyn will get used to it. In the summer its not a problem, in the spring and Autumn its a bit different. they just have to adapt. But the main thing is we now get some consistant weather, and bends 1-2 have been completely re-laid. Glyns work will be shown to full effect. I also believe he took some dirt off bend 4, you do not need the volume of dirt there. when its heavily watered riders would straighten up. It now appears to be riding better. With Neil Golding now helping Glyn out it will take a bit of the work load off him. People just have to accept, that you can prepare the track the same way on consecutive weds, but it will not ride the same. Neils write up in the Echo y'day was very good. Nobody should panic, it will come, our boys will get to grips with set ups. We just need to gate...

There will be a reason for it. Its not just the sea that floods the track. That is not strickly true, moisture comes up, it doesnt flood the track, but mix that with heavy rain at the same time then you do have a problem. primerily on bend 3. Thats why at high tide especially in spring and autumn you have to be a little careful with the watering due to the temperature drop in the evening, on a warm dry day as i said, you can water the bends and home straight liberally up to a point, but you have to be careful on the back straight because the sun goes down quicker behind that glass grandstand and cast a shadow over the track, and heavy watering will just stand Not so important in the summer, as the track dries very quickly, no matter how much water you dump on it. High tide only last for a while then starts to drop. But reguardless of the sea level, if it chucks it down we are in the same boat as any other track in the country.. Thats why after heavy rain the other week, when Glyn went in and the track was a quagmire he did very well to get the meeting on. But even he had doubts.

Mate dont bother, you i John Hector and Glyn knows. We also have french drains round the edge of the track over the white line about a foot down.. I didnt know that one untill John told me..
-
It does make a difference Steve. We have two drains that go direct to the sea. When the tide is high moisture comes up on the track especially turn 3, when its low it dries out very quick in the summer. its not an old wives tale mate. Ask John Hector and Glyn.

Im not sure, didnt get a chance to look at tide times, but Glyn would have known.

Tide can make a big difference, believe it or not..

But surely Steve, you have your own team to worry about.. -
We have the proper stuff mate, as Glyn will tell you, proper red shale binds better than anything else.
-
Thats good, he will be a big help to Glyn, will take a bit of presure off him.
-
Nothing wrong with the track mate, just needed more water during the day. it dries very quickly. Glyn will get used to it. It was the same for both sides they gated and adapted better.. No excusses. Clearly some dont read my posts, then bring it up again..

The only thing your an expert at is digging holes to build sand castles.
-
It was. On a nice warm day you have to get water into that track during the daytime It dries terribly quickly. Glyn will soon get used to it.

Agreed, but its a funny time of year. preparing a track this time of year. Glyn is still getting to grips with it he knows what he's doing he will get it right how many meetings have we had at home ?. Smooth, its what the fans/riders were crying out for. A lot of money was invested in turns 1-2, but again, they will be not seen to there best effect untill we get some settled weather. Im sure Glyn will find the grip, im sure next time he will spike the outside, but maybe he was under instruction not to do so, i dont know. but as ive also pointed out, you have 3 options, not spike it, 2, spike it and all you will be doing is churning up no grip as Adam Sckorniki told me, or 3 , lightly spike it and pack with tractor tyres. you need grip, but not to much. but as ive also pointed out, watering this time of year is a fine line. You can water the bends and home straight quite heavily, up to a point in the day this time of year because you get the sun, when we get it all day, but you have to be conservative with the back straight because the shadow of the grandstand casts early, and if you water that heavily this time of year it just stands. Swindon got there set ups right and attacked the track, it was the same for both sides mate. Yes i was like you very dissapointed with our effort on Weds, things need to improve. and they will. Glyn will get it right, and it will all come together. No panic here mate..

In thiery Steve, Evens could now if he wanted to take action. Seeing that he is now been cleared inocent. -
Granted, most definately. But the season is young, and there's a long way to go.
-
Seasons a marathon mate, not a sprint. I personally would be happy to see us to pick up 4 points or more from those meetings. But we need to win our home meetings. One thing our boys will take from Weds is take nothing for granted and every other team will be looking for us as a scalp.
-
Really.. Lets get some things straight sha'l we.. 1, The sponsors are NEVER left alone on the centre green, as you incinuated, never, they always have a chaparone, who looks after the meeting sponsors, H/S depicts that. 2, There have been slight teething problems sinse bends 1-2 were torn up and completely re-laid, properly, like it should have been done 7 years ago, this is due to our lovely british weather, but once we get some consistant weather you will see the benifit of Glyns work. It is very hard to prepare the track with any consistancy this time of year. 3, You can never prepare the track the same way every week, weather conditions depict that, even in the height of summer, you can do exactly the same as the previous week, but it will ride completely differently. 4, The track was the same for both sides on Weds, there was nothing wrong with it. Swindon got there set ups right gated and adapted to the track, we did niether. 5, there is plenty of juice left in this season. Our boys need to learn from Weds, and im sure they will. Now unless you have something constructive to say, and not jumble your posts up to cover yourself please dont say it.. Thank you.

Really, you will be eating your words my friend..

Tell you what. Why dont you get together with Ray R and Poole Kieth and discuse this in a darkened room, and leave the rest of us to talk about 0-18, there's more than plenty of life in this season yet.
