  1. To be fair, not to many poole fans take what Steve says seriously, but he does make some valid points. Its those that take the bait ! Steves got backache and a dead arm from reeling them in..
  2. Oh come on mate, to be fair Gavan would be suited to a set of visors, blinkers would be a bit to much, he'l pull like a train.. Imo the Ippo team of 1998 was very good, but financially it was there undoing. its come with a cost. crowd wise, they are not Poole. Mental Gymnastics, straight 10's...
  3. BV can only have a rider up to Worralls average which is 6.77. so that really limits there choice as to find a rider who can ride poole as well. So its a posibillity they may go R/R.
  4. I see what your saying, but to do all or maybe the premiership and championship it would come down to cost of producing the magazine and the cost to fans, i think the idea of doing a mid season review could work but it depends, you would have to cover the 3 leagues otherwise there would be moans, and that might not be viable. thats why they produce a bumper edition in March, although it is food for thought. either mid season or at the end of the season. with that seasons stats. But i still say a decent supliment fixed in the star for the British GP is a must, you need to capture the publics imagination and as i said baring a British world cup this is our showpiece event. It is still value, but many people do not have bottomless pits of money, thats why clubs, and perhaps the star need to dangle that carrot. End of the day, it all comes down to cost.
  5. Yep the bumper issue is always good value Sid, i know they do it, but mid season track and team reviews pen pictures and mid season stats would be good, might help the sales and advertise the fact that a certain team will be in the following weeks star. And the British GP edition, but i do wish they would make more of it in the Star, maybe a middle [ fixed ] supliment type thing this is our showpiece event.
  6. I havnt seen one for ages Phil, can barely move out of this house due to this rotten weather.. and the rain off's. I dont know how you could make it more appealing Phil, its very difficult. When you take everything into consideration if you go to a meeting with entry programme travel and eats perhaps its the cost that puts people off ? , but its trying to drag in that wider audience who dont buy the star, even if its 2-3 times a season.
  7. Nope, looking at the forcast if its right i'l be suprised if its on. This weather is really becoming a dredge.
  8. I agree Aces51. We have a few young lads who could be quite useful, but they need to be nutured the right way. Sponsorship will also play a big part in theses lads progression.
  9. Yeh, he will continue to learn and improve Gem. He has improved his equipment for this season, so if he could attain or slightly improve his average then job done.
  10. Yep i agree with you, all including young bewley are the future, of course as you know, that proper international standard is a long way off for those guys, but they will all learn in time. I mean, even established riders in there team could give a helping hand, but obviously, you would rather see them do it on a training track rather when points are at stake.
  11. Yeh its going to take time mate, as i said to Somilier he's been predominantly a grass track rider, so its going to take time he wont be able to change his style overnight,. but he is improving, and thats all you can ask. Our forcast for Weds is looking promising, lets just hope we dont get to much rain Mon/tues.
  12. Thing is mate, he's been predominately a grass track rider, but he's coming on well, and thats all you can ask, last night showed he's improving and has that will to win, there hopefully will be better to come.
  13. I totally agree with you mate, things are not going to be instant, its all built on potential.
  14. I give the lad a lot of praise, he had a fall then got up and went on to qualify, as well as beating the aformentioned who Matt thinks a lot of. He can only get better.
  15. I said in the winter Steve when i was in Hospital, and Matts lovely wife brought me in a couple of stars, there was a big article about him, he came across a very confident lad and looks a bit of class, he's still a young lad and he can only improve. Ignore the Poole bashers mate, we know what we have, thats all that counts..
  16. Sure all good things come to an end, ask Man city tonight.., eventually, but you have to make the most of them while its there. And while Matt Neil and Gordon are at the helm , it wont be anytime soon..
  17. Tell me why it will be a shock, ? or would you like to say you hope it will happen .
  18. Everyones entitled to one bad ride, overall he's improving rapidly..
