My memory wasn’t what it used to be, but didn’t Adams, along with CVS, say that it would be Wolves or nobody for them when Wolves unfortunately lost their venue? Apologies in advance if I’ve got that wrong, but that’s in my head for some reason.

Can’t disagree with you here. Louis wasn’t fair to the Ipswich supporters early doors no matter what his defenders will say and I was one of his critics on here. But, don’t agree with the latest rant either. Louis isn’t flogging an old pair of jeans that no longer fit on gumtree, he’s selling his business and his living. People will take the p!ss with their side splitting hilarious jibes of “starting gate and broken down tractor”, but it’s obviously far more complex than that. He made his living out of Ipswich speedway just like his father John did before him. He issued an update just over a week ago saying everything was agreed, but he couldn’t go in to detail until it was all completed. What else can he say in the meantime?? He put a timescale of “within two weeks” on his statement, and that runs up until Tuesday next week so I’m not sure why anyone would criticise him now. Even if it runs past that, these things sometimes do and that’s out of his control. But he probably felt pressured in issuing some sort of update, which he’s done. As hard as it is, we all now need to wait until Louis issues a further update, which he’s promised to do.

https://www.speedwaystar.net Gonna give this a read tonight, see if anything is mentioned about a possible UK return. I can’t see it personally but we’ll see. Also an interview with the legend that is Siggy in this weeks edition! My childhood idol 😁

Pete Adams seems to be who they’re hinting at. Olly Allen and Rosco could also be in the mix potentially so there seems to be a few options. Maybe it’ll be none of them!
-
Brennan has to be nailed on now also.

He was a fabulous Speedway rider he really was. It’s staggering to see such a drop off of top American talent compared to what we saw in the 80’s and 90’s. Penhall obviously, Sigalos, Shawn and Kelly Moran, Lance King, Sam Ermolenko, Boogaloo Schwartz, John Cook, Rick Miller, and then a little later came Hancock and Billy Hamill. America were a real powerhouse in World Speedway and then it suddenly seemed to all dry up for whatever reason.
-
All jokes aside, Sam used to absolutely love riding our old narrow track. Always used to say it was one of his favourites in world Speedway, not just Britain. As did Jason Crump!

🖕🏻 😉

That’ll be Luke Becker nailed on then! I heard Olly Allen mentioned yesterday so who knows. Least the rumour mill is cranking up to generate a bit of interest..

Just over seven weeks to go until Klindt’s testimonial for the season curtain raiser. Still have no (active) owner, Manager, team, sponsorship? Track man? So much to be done in such a short space of time. That’s without the bigger picture of fixtures to be sorted for all clubs as well as admission prices and season tickets etc etc. It’s been an absolute sh!tshow this winter let’s be honest.

TBF, this article that Badge posted this time last week said “within two weeks” so we’re still well within that window. Just seems longer because everybody (not just Ipswich fans) is waiting for confirmation. Always a concern during due diligence that a red flag crops up which causes the buyer to want to renegotiate a lower price, or withdraw completely. Fingers crossed none of that happens here! Hopefully we may hear something later this week or over the weekend.

No news is good news. Right?.. 🥴

Thank you.

Which league did Becker not do last year? I know he definitely done Denmark and Poland, did he miss Sweden?
-
But that deal was already done. Maybe the last rider is too I don’t know. You also have to look at value for money. Jack may be expensive, but they may feel he’s the one rider worth pushing the boat out for. If Pickering is after similar money (and I’m not saying he is), then maybe they feel that isn’t value for money as he’s not in that class of rider. Doyle was very expensive at Ipswich, someone mentioned earlier that Pickering was asking for similar to what Doyle was getting. None of us really know the finer points, but there plenty of people who claim Pickering is demanding big money so there’s probably an element of truth in that.
-
Assuming Pickering and Kurtz are in at Sheffield at Belle Vue, neither Brennan or Lawson has a ride in the Premiership. You'd have to think they’ll almost certainly be Ipswich bound unless the sixth club materialises. If they are, you also have to wonder what kind of team the sixth club could realistically put together. There just isn’t enough riders of the calibre needed to have a bigger league as much as everyone would like it. Lawson Rew Musielak Becker Brennan Gusts/3 pointer Edwards If Ipswich went with something like that, who is left for Northampton/a.n.other?
-
Maybe it won’t be Pickering? If he’s demanding the big bucks that some are suggesting, maybe after yesterday’s news they may now go for a cheaper rider. TBF, there’s a few options still there that would in all likelihood be cheaper.
-
Just can’t see a world where Lawson isn’t riding in the Premiership so it’s surely either Ipswich, or mystery team number 6.
-
He said only yesterday on local radio that he wants out of the sport, and wants a lifestyle change.

2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams

That would be awesome to be fair 😁 -

I’m with you here I’ve never understood the issue either! Why does it matter if Harris rides for a different club, in a different league, and against totally different opposition? How does that affect Kings Lynn in a totally different league? The answer is it doesn’t. It’s far worse to have Premiership riders, guesting for a different Premiership team against teams that are in the same division as you! Having one of your team helping out a rival whom you’re competing against and potentially helping them gain a play off place at your expense, has always seemed bonkers to me and far more damaging to the Sports credibility. -
He did say “work was well underway” on the team in the update last week so who knows whether that meant he was working on it, or he knew the potential new owners were working on it. Very much doubt though we’ll see any rider confirmed until the sale has been completed. Still lots of questions unanswered. Are some of the current team (as in the volunteers who helped Chris at the club) staying around in their roles? Or are the new people going to have an awful lot to do and find a new track man, presenter, etc as well as a new team manager? These were all very loyal to Chris Louis as much as Ipswich Speedway.

Thanks for the link Badge. Well this is quite interesting to me because I was convinced he would be running things on behalf of the new people/person, at least in the short term but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I was also pretty sure he was involved still in putting the team together but reading that I’m not convinced that’s the case either! He really doesn’t seem to want anything to do with the sport anymore which is a surprise I’m sure to many! That stance may change in the future who knows.

Tune! 😁

Maybe GM, maybe not! I’ll believe it when I see it this time after the last fiasco. I still remember the official website posting pictures of Louis shaking Busters hand and the headline “Witches sold”. Weeks and then months went by and nothing further was ever said. We now know that Buster backed out of that deal, but nobody said a word, it was all just swept under the carpet as if nothing happened and Louis just carried on as usual!
