Somerset V Ipswich 18.8.15
ancient mariner replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As a Devil I'm happy to be a temporary Rebel tomorrow and will be in attendance. Nothing in particular against the Witches you understand ... but needs must. -
How is it we are unclear as to the cut-off date, even at this stage? Mad.

So I did .... just the two?

Plymouth V Rye House 14/8/2015

I think THAT might get a reaction! :holds breath: -
Met HT at Plymouth last night; the most recent of his several visits to us this season. He'd been to the OTA on Tuesday for the Rebels v Monarchs meeting, Poole on Wednesday for the Pirates v Aces and would have gone to Swindon on Thursday were the meeting not rained off. Oh and while he was at it, he was also texting the Devils v Rockets for the Updates site. Whether or not that's dedicated is not really for me to say. But if there were more speedway supporters like him, the sport would be in a better position than it currently finds itself

Plymouth V Rye House 14/8/2015

It was impressive indeed. Even in Heat 11, Risager got a belter from the gate and pushed Kennett very wide allowing Simota to come past. Simota crucially held up Kennett for 2 and a bit laps before he got into second place. Had it been a 5 lap heat then Kennett would have won, though it wasn't quite as close on the line as reported above. After a quiet start, the meeting just got better as the Heats came and went. Some great racing last night, with the Rockets contributing fully to the entertainment if not the scoreboard. -
Whoa! I asked you a question as to your identity particularly based on your statement as attending Devil's away meetings, having travelled a bit myself in support of the Devils. You did not deign to reply. I now realise that I was very mistaken and apologise, as I indicated I would at the time.

Plymouth V Witches (07/08/15)
ancient mariner replied to JamesB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You are correct. But I'll tell you what ... For the first time since I forget when, things are looking a little bit better for the Devils. It certainly seems like a summer. -
I'd like to think it is only a temporary thing. It's just a case of judging when he's ready for the PL because we all remember the way he way he did for Danny Halsey in his first ever PL meeting. I recall that it brought the house down. A pleasure as always! Please come and see us again soon.

Thank goodness he's rubbish at gating or you wouldn't get to see him do things like that!

And strangely that person has been conspicuously absent from here over the Devil's last two meetings. I assume we'll have to wait until the they lose and then we'll get a long list of criticism about everything to do with the Devils and the promotion

Not bait. I said 'A lot ...' and not 'All ...' - but if you wish to wear that particular hat then that's entirely your prerogative. If you are who I think you are, I find your view of the current promotion surprising, especially considering how you were treated by their predecessor. If I have misidentified you then I offer my apologies. -

A lot of the usual suspects seem to have gone missing this week it seems. A noticeable lack of criticism this week of riders, promotion, ship's cat etc -

Somerset V Plymouth Plkoc July 10th

I wouldn't know. What I do know is that there is no need to persistently harp on about everything to do with the Devils to the point of gloating at their difficulties. In my opinion it is unecessary -

I cannot recall the poster in question EVER making a positive post about the Devils. It leads one to suppose that he must have some kind of grudge against the promotion. -
Speculate all you want. The Devils will contrive to confound us all. As soon as we think they have sorted themselves out, they will be getting a comprehensive seeing to. When we decide that there is little to be gained by acknowledging that they even exist they will come up with a fabulous meeting. Unpredictability is the only predictable thing. We know from recent results that the Devils do Foxhall very, very badly. Frankly I wouldn't expect any surprises on Thursday.

Plymouth V Scunthorpe Sat 30/5
ancient mariner replied to Penny Cross's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
And make the riders and away supporters travel for no purpose? If the forecast gets it so wrong, can you honestly blame the promotion? By all means blame a promotion for all sorts of rthings, but surely not for believing the weather forecast. -

Scottish Speedway Offer
ancient mariner replied to TheScotsman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great offer - both promotions are to be applauded. For information, present your season ticket on the gate at Somerset and provided your team is not riding you'll get in for a tenner. Done it several times and fair play to the Rebels promotion -
