Panthers V Sheffield 17/07/15
bigcatdiary replied to Lukas's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Has an EL GSA less than 6 and started the season with an EL GSA less than 6, his current average converted comes in under Lewis Blackbirds average and was confirmed by referee Tony Steele. -

A bit easy for the Panthers if I am honest, I expected more from Sheffield but KENNETT and GARRITY aside they were poor. -

Redcar V Somerset Thursday 9th July
bigcatdiary replied to pvm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I would think the referee fills in the riders and averages from the line ups supplied by the teams, I still don't understand why the averages were not checked against the latest issue of the GSA but for him and the team managers to all miss it is odd, I agree that teams shouldn't benefit from this sort of mistake and Redcar clearly have, I also don't agree with the SCB decision not to alter the score. This sort of decision hardly sets a good example going forward. -

[quote name="Cliffeboy" post="2645070" timestamp="1436545063 Does every other team management know all of the averages of all of the other riders ata given time,of course not It rather depends on the club but I would be surprised if any club doesn't have someone who is not up to speed with GS Averages and how they affect his or hers team on a match by match basis. Just needs to be checked prior to the meeting, a point I think ultimately comes under the meeting referee and why team lists are provided in plenty of time to the meeting official and BSPA office so this kind of problem is avoided. -

The only way I can see KUS being able to take the RR ride instead of Robson was if an effective date had been missed of Robsons new GSA and it wasn't effective last night. -

Local paper states it was Dave Dowling Latest PL GSA issued on the 3rd July sees the change to Robson, hard to see how Dowling would have missed it if he had checked. -

I agree the referee gets the full line ups before the meeting with averages and it's his/her job to check everything is in order with regards to facilities etc. Did we establish who is the referee because updates don't cover it now. -

Trouble is its impossible to control and would be broken every week, the only way to cap riders pay is to ensure their are more riders than places, it's very clear that riders are in demand and they know it. Ensuring EL & PL ran on different nights would help as well especially when so many double up. -

Peterborough Panthers V Redcar Bears

Heat 1 looked like a classic first bend bunching and should have been all 4 back, not in the least surprised with Horleys decision the woman always comes up with absurd decisions and this one was on a par, heat 15 could have gone either way, another referee could easily have excluded Ostergaard. The white exclusion light farce in 15 was another Horley spectacular, Absolutely clueless. -

The reason promoters lose so much money is likely down two main reasons, riders being paid too much and not enough supporters paying to watch. I notice it's already started this year with various promoters calling for the sport to cut costs. -

I have no idea why the BSPA kept quiet about the ruling that allows this, which has satisfied referees and other promoters and was previously explained. You know as well as I do that the regs are only a rough guide, they do pretty much what they want and interpret rules to suit their needs at the time. -

Which makes it all the more interesting because we lost the vote 3-2 apparently, bearing in mind A promoter recommended him you would have thought they would know the rules. If they were sticking to the rules it would have been 5-0, this whole thing stinks and unfortunately not for the first time. -

PLC semi final and final dates were set aside at the start of the season by the fixtures compiler ( John Campbell Edinburgh) so surprising they haven't kept to them.

Shaun the whole rule book is badly written. The Panthers supporters are not, it's just the odd one from Rye House that seems dissapointed.
