  1. We have. 1. Its called the Peterborough Panthers Speedway Supporters Club. 2. Peterborough Speedway 100 Club. Both actively support Speedway in Peterborough.
  2. So have I Rodders on occasions and only then when we hit problems but he watches all the meetings from the sponsors lounge. Peterborough meetings are nowhere near the drawn out affairs you get at Lynn.
  3. He doesn’t get the chance Rodders, he watches the meeting from the sponsors lounge. (Certainly did in 2021) Luke, Dean and Kevin drive the tractors.
  4. Surely good racing would do that on a properly prepared racetrack. This has been thought up by someone who has signed a very good top two, my money is on Chris Louis. Its nothing to do with excitement it’s to do with making sure his team win.
  5. How about 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw, No tactical’s off 15 yards or otherwise. The current 15 heat formula has proved to be good and a reasonable points limit should be kept. If promoters think they need more excitement then they should ensure their race tracks are not super slick and encourage racing as opposed to gating competitions. Rules should be left to the SCB as the BSPL have showed over the years they are completely incapable of any reasonable improvements as this latest example shows. All leagues should be under exactly the same rules, let’s get back to keeping it simple.
  6. At this moment in time Peterborough Speedway is operating because of Keith Chapman and after a season we have just had it’s hardly fair to knock him is it. I don’t see a big queue of people attempting to take over from him either, even though he is open to offers. As Neil Watson says this plan needs to be approved and will take years to come to fruition even if it is allowed, a lot could still change.
  7. I wouldn’t take too much notice of what supporters predict how teams will do, you only have to look at what happened last year. I dare say things will be clearer after a month or two, I seem to recall Ipswich started like trains last year but then just ran out of puff. Interesting to see people writing off the Panthers yet again and saying how good Sheffield are.
  8. I should think it’s not been communicated because it’s took some time to sort it out. Maximum no of rides, tape and time exclusions, penalties etc for riders, falls on the first bend, machinery problems as a result of a first bend crash, or riders getting injured as a result all come into play and I should think as per usual the person thinking up this brainwave up hasn’t thought of any of these problems and just thought it would be a good idea, a bit like Promotion and Relegation and all the other super two or three year plans that get ditched after one year. This has proposed for Televised matches written all over it. And for the record their were four draws in the Premiership last year.
  9. Don’t know about Putin but I can think of a couple of extraleague clubs that will be.
  10. Everything was new to Palin last year including most of the tracks, the second year is usually the one in which you see real improvement and I and a lot of others expect him to show it. He learned a hell of a lot last year, the fact that he rides for the same teams again is a big clue as well.
  11. Probably having trouble agreeing terms with Tungate, best of luck with that one
  12. My understanding is that the Premiership No 8’s were the No 1 riders in the junior teams
  13. It seems to me people just want to sidestep the ACU/SCB and BSP Ltd, now things are possibly far from perfect but they are the governing bodies and do run the sport in the U.K. Licensing of tracks and riders are a significant outlay as is insurance which I would doubt is easy to arrange if not run under the proper guidelines.
  14. Surely if that was the case he would have gone years ago
  15. As someone who used to buy and read programmes at all meetings I attended my pet hate was a rain off issue that had no connection with my team being sold for full price with an insert. No one likes it and programme collectors hate it. In the current climate surely it’s better to save it for when the original team returns and just offer this with an up to date insert, at the very least it’s of interest to both sets of fans. Bearing in mind 75% of a programme is Owners, Promoters, Team Managers and Team Captains welcoming the visiting Owners, Promoters, Team Managers and Team and thanking Sponsors and pages upon pages of adverts it’s a wonder anyone still buys it. I am aware that all copies of programmes go to the BSPL to ensure no one says something out of line and risk a fine but this practice has over time made a lot of programmes bland and uninspiring unfortunately. Since 2014 I have used an iPad spreadsheet (I produced myself) to follow matches although I still glance through the programme I get with my ST. I no longer buy programmes at away venues and haven’t for years, although I might look at an Eastbourne copy to see why it won programme of the year in the recent star awards.
  16. Peterborough ST price is competitive and from what I have heard the take up has already exceeded last years total, ST holders got all the play offs including the final as included last season as well as a programme and inside parking, makes it very good value if attending every match. Clubs always used to be pleased with money upfront from ST as it helped with early season finances so I don’t know why more teams don’t take advantage of these.
  17. Indeed, hearing what Ipswich paid Crump last year I would think Tai phoned Louis first.
  18. Interesting that Wolves were aware of his intentions and said no to a rider on a complete steal of an average. That sounds to me like he is asking for terms well above what clubs will now pay, if he eventually does do a deal somewhere I hope we don’t see another club going to the wall trying to pay it.
