Probably because he was in Denmark, it makes team photographs quite difficult. -
Belle Vue v Peterborough Panthers - Grand Final

I thought the two finals were a superb advert for the sport with two very good teams going at it for the full 30 heats, both tracks produced good racing and their cannot be any doubt that the best team won the title. The Panthers were written off by pretty much everyone at the start of the season but they showed good form throughout the campaign and carried on winning pretty much everywhere, apart from a few guests we finished the season with the same 1-7 we started with, we had a few injuries and attempts were made to change things but as per usual we got little if any help from the sports administrators which of course makes our success even sweeter. Every single rider contributed to our success so it’s hard to single out one rider, they all rode well over the season and some of them when they were carrying injuries but they all deserve credit for an outstanding season and the team spirit was the best I have ever seen in over 50 years watching. A special mention must be made for Rob Lyon, when he was made team manager I applauded the choice and he has done even better than I thought he would, he is light years ahead of some of his rivals and had a brilliant relationship with his riders. Keith Chapman has a lot of critics but he put his money where his mouth was and he has warmed to a lot of Peterborough supporters and trackstaff, he has the backing of the supporters club and has truly delivered, nobody can ask for anymore. -

Well Peterborough hasn’t been given any special dispensation so far so don’t expect that will change anytime soon. Dispensation is only given to certain teams and as per usual Panthers isn’t one of them. -

Tactical's were initially invented to make matches closer, I can remember when their was no limit to tac subs providing a team was 6 behind, over the years the rule has been played with and now we have just one which is frankly ridiculous but the cost of them clearly pays a part. You either should allow teams to play tactical’s as and when teams are 6/8 behind or scrap them altogether, frankly I don’t see the need for them anymore they undoubtedly don’t stop bigger scoreline’s and favour the teams with big hitters rather than the more solid teams. -

Well to be fair pretty much all of the sensible/normal Panthers fans ignore the idiot, it’s a shame everyone else doesn’t. -

I think one of the problems was the inside is lower than the rest of the track and was where the laying water was Monday so consequently it was still very grippy. Most of the Panthers team prefer it to be grippy on the outside. -

Not convinced this is a Rob Lyon decision. -

So basically they are saying Kerr at no 2 is better than utilising Harris, Nicholls, Andersen, MPT or Pedersen. That just doesn’t make any sense to me. -

Yes I think they could and if the cameras were not there I think they would have done. -

1. They could have done but the conditions had deteriorated too far and any attempt would mess the track up further and Thursday night wouldn’t then have been an option. 2. Peterborough possess all the equipment needed including blades. -

No doubt, thankfully he wasn’t the one making the decision. -

It’s because the TV were there, if it wasn’t live on TV then it would have likely been called off after the 5pm cloudburst. Of course then we would have likely had complaints from someone we had called it off to early !!!! -

The track was dreadful and the right call was made. -
A really nice man who was an excellent rider manager and promoter. Lovely sense of humour and was a genuine fan of the sport. He will be missed at Peterborough despite the short time he was here.
