Ipswich Vs Kings Lynn Thurs March 31st LC
bigcatdiary replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I wouldn’t take too much notice of what supporters predict how teams will do, you only have to look at what happened last year. I dare say things will be clearer after a month or two, I seem to recall Ipswich started like trains last year but then just ran out of puff. Interesting to see people writing off the Panthers yet again and saying how good Sheffield are. -
2022 Regulations - New Super Heat after Draw!!
bigcatdiary replied to Roger Jacobs's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I should think it’s not been communicated because it’s took some time to sort it out. Maximum no of rides, tape and time exclusions, penalties etc for riders, falls on the first bend, machinery problems as a result of a first bend crash, or riders getting injured as a result all come into play and I should think as per usual the person thinking up this brainwave up hasn’t thought of any of these problems and just thought it would be a good idea, a bit like Promotion and Relegation and all the other super two or three year plans that get ditched after one year. This has proposed for Televised matches written all over it. And for the record their were four draws in the Premiership last year. -
Polish Extraleague Signings 2022
bigcatdiary replied to Najjer's topic in International World of Speedway
Don’t know about Putin but I can think of a couple of extraleague clubs that will be. -
It’s been going on since the start
-
It does indeed

Probably having trouble agreeing terms with Tungate, best of luck with that one
-
My understanding is that the Premiership No 8’s were the No 1 riders in the junior teams
-
It seems to me people just want to sidestep the ACU/SCB and BSP Ltd, now things are possibly far from perfect but they are the governing bodies and do run the sport in the U.K. Licensing of tracks and riders are a significant outlay as is insurance which I would doubt is easy to arrange if not run under the proper guidelines.

Bit like Birmingham and Wolverhampton then
-
Surely if that was the case he would have gone years ago

As someone who used to buy and read programmes at all meetings I attended my pet hate was a rain off issue that had no connection with my team being sold for full price with an insert. No one likes it and programme collectors hate it. In the current climate surely it’s better to save it for when the original team returns and just offer this with an up to date insert, at the very least it’s of interest to both sets of fans. Bearing in mind 75% of a programme is Owners, Promoters, Team Managers and Team Captains welcoming the visiting Owners, Promoters, Team Managers and Team and thanking Sponsors and pages upon pages of adverts it’s a wonder anyone still buys it. I am aware that all copies of programmes go to the BSPL to ensure no one says something out of line and risk a fine but this practice has over time made a lot of programmes bland and uninspiring unfortunately. Since 2014 I have used an iPad spreadsheet (I produced myself) to follow matches although I still glance through the programme I get with my ST. I no longer buy programmes at away venues and haven’t for years, although I might look at an Eastbourne copy to see why it won programme of the year in the recent star awards.

Peterborough ST price is competitive and from what I have heard the take up has already exceeded last years total, ST holders got all the play offs including the final as included last season as well as a programme and inside parking, makes it very good value if attending every match. Clubs always used to be pleased with money upfront from ST as it helped with early season finances so I don’t know why more teams don’t take advantage of these.

Indeed, hearing what Ipswich paid Crump last year I would think Tai phoned Louis first.
-
Interesting that Wolves were aware of his intentions and said no to a rider on a complete steal of an average. That sounds to me like he is asking for terms well above what clubs will now pay, if he eventually does do a deal somewhere I hope we don’t see another club going to the wall trying to pay it.

Shame it isn’t the same outfit doing the development at Swindon, could be talking decades then.
-
Very likely
-
Wikipedia or the BSPL,s own website both show the 2021 SON winners as Great Britain.
-
Great Britain or England, I can accept either, team GB is just a a play with words, I don’t subscribe to this sort of hype.
-
Most of the U.K. population doesn’t even know Speedway exists which was highlighted in the star this week when it was mentioned that England won team of the year in the BBC sports personality awards when finishing as runners up in the European Championships whilst the England Speedway Team that won Gold at Belle Vue this year didn’t even get a mention in the whole 90 minute program. Not the BBC,s finest hour.

BWD should score well in the Championship until he gets hurt, unfortunately that’s his Achilles heel he gets injured regularly. But whilst he is fit and well I don’t see a problem.
-
I am sure it’s no coincidence that both teams have recently lost riders that they were banking on for 2022
-
And after Poole’s bleating about the way he left them it looks likely their will be.
