Belle Vue will be looking to take advantage at a track they go well at having won the opening match at Alwalton in April, but hopefully the Panthers will be looking to Win this time around after losing their last two home matches to Ipswich and Wolverhampton. It’s getting the balance right between a bit slicker around the white line and a grippy outside. More often than not it’s been too grippy on the white line which makes the first half of the match a gating competition.

I think pretty dreadful sums it up well. Racing, Crowd, Excitement & Persistent Restarts due to riders trying to jump the starts. Tatum got it spot on tonight, exclude riders who move before the tapes go up, warnings are a waste of time, none of this 15 yard crap, Chuck them out, it would soon stop.

We had exactly the same when Rick Frost bought Peterborough, of course Speedway is funny in that you also need someone who can put a team together, get them to work and coupled with a fair bit of luck to get trophies and as Glasgow have found out chucking money at something doesn’t always work. Glasgow certainly haven’t won much since Dickson left, seemed to me to be someone who knew how it all works.

Since when has common sense ever been applied in UK Speedway.

It’s happened like that for years, We lost Kennett last year when he broke his arm riding in a grasstrack event prior to his first meeting. Its like a lot of rules in our rule book that needs reviewing and possibly amending but as it stands at present it’s no facility. GSA are another story, they are so complicated now I doubt anyone knows them inside out.

At the end of the day the rule says no facility Thankfully on this occasion the rules were followed.

Didn’t see your second question, but I did quote several hundred pounds above. Basically it comes down to how often supporters are inconvenienced because of only one paramedic and waiting for an ambulance, generally not too often although it happens everywhere occasionally. The cost of a second paramedic or doctor is considered too high for a general meeting although my understanding is we had two for the Fours Finals, personally having to wait (occasionally) for a rider to be treated or for a county ambulance to arrive is part and parcel of the sport and not something that will stop me attending.

If you read the post I quoted you will see IainB mentions inadequate medical cover, I was referring to that. To be fair it isn’t difficult to follow, well to be fair I thought it wasn’t.

At Peterborough the Supporters Club looked into providing a second paramedic for Peterborough meetings but the cost is quite high (several hundred pounds per meeting) with the extra of additional insurance as well. it wasn’t deemed cost effective which I would presume is what other clubs have found as well. You might be surprised just how much medical cover costs per meeting.

Not a good meeting Steve It was complete and utter pants from start to finish, the track is an absolute shambles and it’s clear their own fans have had enough. Its not hard to see why Poole are struggling but as others have said the management just care about winning nothing else, racing etc is non existent. A poor advert for the sport and BT shouldn’t show anymore matches from there until it’s significantly improved, certainly not a good advert for fans to travel and watch that dross.
