  1. Exactly, and surely that’s the point of it all. Supporters want to be entertained, that really is the first thing that needs to be sorted, tracks need to prepared for racing not boring boring gate and go processions. Highlighted by that superb advert for the sport at Swindon last week live on BT.
  2. Their are lots of riders who protect and keep their averages low especially towards the end of the season so they get employment the following season, it’s been going on for decades, it’s nothing new.
  3. I think the current 15 heat is the best formula the UK has used, I certainly wouldn’t favour any change in that.
  4. And certainly don’t ever show that sort of crap live on TV
  5. That’s because the Cardiff GP provides everyone attending with a great racetrack, great racing, good entertainment, good view and seats. Its not cheap but it is a great day out. Now compare that with Swindon v Leicester on BT sport last night.
  6. Just said exactly the same, it’s a disgrace that this is the televised fixture, whatever do casual fans think of this dire rubbish, that’s of course assuming anyone can see anything bearing in mind the dust.
  7. I think this date makes the Pairs unlikely to be the day before as has become the norm, kids back at school, weather at that time of the year makes it a real gamble as is the GP. I think the GP will take a hit as well, a big one as well.
  8. Seemed on a par with previous years maybe slightly less but a reasonable crowd nonetheless.
  9. It was a good meeting and the racing was as you said really exciting and entertaining, you make some good points however that Somerset know only too well what to expect and the facilities provided do not match the expected and usual attendance. The 20 qualifying heats took about 1 and a quarter hours and yet for some unknown reason the semis and Final took another 45 minutes with a forecast which threatened rain mid evening but which arrived earlier than forecast. The only other gripe was how long it took to get out of the stadium and car park, the parking was unsupervised and the exit was just a free for all as well.
  10. At the end of the day it’s up to the FIM to appoint properly qualified and competent referees who can officiate at this level. Someone clearly didn’t do his homework on this idiot who has slipped through the net.
  11. It wasn’t hard to work out what he said, about summed his night up methinks.
  12. You can just see it in a few weeks when clubs are scrambling to get fixtures in before the deadline (9th September) the weather will turn and we will have loads of rain offs. Two months of no rain will get rectified at some time.
  13. Has anyone seen any information reference who is partnering Chris Harris at this event as at the moment it’s Richie Worrall who has officially left the club. GROUP 1LAKESIDE: Nick Morris/Richard LawsonSCUNTHORPE: Josh Auty/Jake AllenEDINBURGH: Ricky Wells/Erik RissPETERBOROUGH: Scott Nicholls/Michael Palm ToftBERWICK: Kevin Doolan/Aaron SummersGROUP 2SHEFFIELD: Kyle Howarth/Charles WrightIPSWICH: Rory Schlein/Nico CovattiGLASGOW: Chris Harris/Richie WorrallREDCAR: Ben Barker/Thomas Jorgensen WORKINGTON: Ty Proctor/Nicolai Klindt
  14. Track was similar to Friday, didn’t seem to present too much of a problem for him then.
  15. The basic problem with running RR on a regular basis is losing another of your big hitters early in a match which generally stuffs you.
  16. Your right Halifax I do have a blind spot for Lakeside, I dislike the track and the stadium which has pretty much a complete lack of decent racing (in my opinion) and spectating facilities (seats, grandstand or good standing areas etc) I must be honest I am not a fan of Jon Cook either. I like a track that encourages racing, provides different racing lines and has races which are not decided by who gates first, which is why I am not a big fan of Rye or Eastbourne either but have attended both many times, and I am sorry to see any track go to the wall as I told some Rye fans who I spoke to at Peterborough Friday. Despite what some of said I meant no slight at Nicol, I just took exception to the comment that Lakeside isn’t a trick track, of course it is that’s why you pretty much stuff everyone at Arena, the only time you haven’t hit at least 50 at home was Ipswich in the Shield. Clearly the Sheffield match was a better one unfortunately the week before v Scunthorpe was mostly FTG (updates) which was mostly what I saw when I attended for Peterborough,s Shield match there in April.
  17. Well if you believe that PR yes, shame it wasn’t spelled checked before it was released.
  18. Saturday with an alternative race night of Friday
  19. He blew a hole in nothing Lakeside is a trick track it’s just Nicol is American and all their tracks are like yours in the USA, generally most Americans are good starters as well, which is about 97% all you have to do at Arena
  20. Must be honest I thought Hume would kick on this year and get back to his pre injury form from last year when he was flying but it’s clear he is struggling this year and further injuries don’t help.
