  1. Your either living in cuckoo land or very naive if you believe everything you are told, Its no great secret why Harris has decided to sign for Glasgow and its nothing to do with a racing track and a nice stadium. No body really knows what riders get paid so talk about its well documented that Glasgow were not the highest payers is just that talk, their is some truth about paying on time and in full but from my experience all riders experience being owed money at some time of the season or their careers, unfortunately a lot of the time it goes with the job. Rick Frost stated several times that he wanted and expected Peterborough to be self sufficient at some time but it never was and to be fair I seriously doubt most Speedway clubs are.
  2. I think that applies to most of the riders today.
  3. Great financial backing only gets you so far, you also need balance, the right riders and more than a bit of luck to win things and lets be fair Glasgow despite the hype this year won nothing.
  4. Interestingly enough the star today seems to suggests it’s tactical substitutes rather than just one substitute. Certainly the way it’s written with quotes from Rob Godfrey. I dare say it will be properly clarified at some point.
  5. Worrall and Allen are good signings no getting away from that Garrity is a risk who blows hot and cold and also collects injuries on a regular basis Auty was a reasonable heat leader in the past but struggled this year which led to a short retirement Nielsen this time is in the 1-5 with very little likelihood of dropping down to reserve, he will do well to maintain his starting average let alone improve it. That leaves them 7 something for the two reserves. I would say it’s reasonable but nothing outstanding at this stage, let’s see what everyone else does before we hand the trophies over
  6. Gordon Pairman has answered that question on the Promoters AGM thread, it’s once only.
  7. To be fair one is generally a waste of time, why not scrap it altogether or allow it multiple times whilst a team remains at least 6 points behind., they have even stopped teams doing it in heat 8 which was generally the time everyone used it. Total half hearted attempt to appease the fans.
  8. Half the Championship is tipped for Glasgow
  9. I understand the need to win regularly at home but big home wins and crashing away defeats generally wins you jack.
  10. Cooks only priority is to win home meetings and keep his fans happy, looking at the thread so far it’s clear that theme will continue.
  11. I think it was more the point very few teams could actually fit him in when he wanted to double up
  12. And if anybody wanted any further evidence that the UK sports ruling body are clueless their it is.
  13. That’s twice he has now ridden for Panthers and the blokes a credit to any team that signs him, one of the nicest and most genuine riders to grace the sport as well as that he gives a 100% every time and is a joy to watch. If it was my choice he would be the first rider on next years team sheet.
  14. If they blocked everyone that criticised them they would be down to 240 followers.
  15. They say the same crap every year and being brutally honest I dont expect it to change anytime soon, Godfrey admits in the star this week they got it massively wrong at the AGM last year but I dont think the people running the sport are really capable of sorting it out. Lets be fair on recent history would you be taking any advice or leads from Chapman or Godfrey.
  16. Fixed race nights for the Premiership with the Championship on any of the other 5 is a must after the problems of this year. As for doubling up the riders must give priority to the UK, if ruled out through sickness and unable to ride then they abide by the med certificate and not allowed to come back early. I agree with others that any attempt to round up averages usually means one or two teams gain an immediate advantage over the rest. I also agree that riders should automatically have an average (actual or calculated) for all leagues and these should be applicable for one month I see no great reason for ALL official matches to be counted (League, Play Offs and KOC) the more matches that count the harder it is to manipulate it. I have never liked Tactical Rides and these should have be dumped years ago, if promoters cannot afford to pay tac rides then just run a season without them and see how that pans out, I doubt it would make to much difference, as for matches I think the format used is good and works well but all aggregate matches should be golden heats if teams are tied after 30 heats.
  17. I have heard that Wednesdays are not the problem they once were, Denmark are increasingly using Fridays
  18. It will be interesting to see what Mr Peasley thinks of the latest SCB statement, I seem to recall you had a lot to say about Ged Rathbone.
  19. Well to be fair Jonathan thats a given, now what member of the BSPA MC doesnt like the content of the statement. Maybe the SCB now will make its own rules and enforce them correctly and properly instead of letting the BSPA walk all over them. Getting rid of the BSPA members on the SCB would be good starting point.
  20. And a complete waste of time, because it’s now been copied and pasted elsewhere.
