Fast doesn't always equal good racing. Perfect size, but not the perfect shape. Racing can be rather strung out with 20-30 yards between the riders at times.

Nothing to do with being positive, or negative. I've seen riders promise so much and deliver very little, Ross Brady being a prime example. I do like the look of Nikolai though. If he can average around 6.5 by the end of the season (a big ask), he will have been a success. Don't forget Linus averaged less than 7 in his first year with us and put 3 points on that the year after. For those who are interested, the Rockets lined up: 1. Edward 2. Robin 3. Anders 4. Steve 5. Nikolai 6. Luke 7. Kasper This may, or not be the way they line up on Saturday.

I've been told the banking on the 3rd/4th bend will eventually be grassed without fixed seating. The stands for the back straight were ordered, but found to be just too deep to be passed by Health & Safety, being around half a metre too close to the track. They won't be in place for this weekends meeting. The Temp Stand was mostly taped off today, I've no idea if this is will be available for Saturday. The only seating available may be in the main stand, which ain't much!

The teams come out on parade at 7pm. With a short intro and coin toss heat 1 is around 5-10 minutes after, unless the weathers looking dodgy, then they dispense with the parade and get on with the racing.

Birmingham Facebook page says that only food or drink purchased from inside can be consumed within the stadium. Good luck with that one!!

Some may say that Roynon isn't "unlucky", but just a poor speedway rider. I reckon the last season he went without injury was 2007, the Rockets last title winning season.

There's a world of difference between doing a few solo laps and going into a first bend 4 abreast. You can't judge these boys until they've had a full season

Judging riders by how they look doing a few solo laps is a waste of time
