  1. IN the Speedway Star "election special" the out going chairman said there was not much wrong with the state of British Speedway yet the new chairman said many changes need implementing. I feel i must apologise to the out going chairman for my negativity..........
  2. Rusty Harrison has retired as far as i,m aware.
  3. Sounds like a step in the right direction, as he said in the Star major changes will not happen over night but the man is probably the only one with right attitude to make the changes required.....hopefully. As was said, getting rid of the TR would be a start, not ground breaking but a good change for the better! Rob Lyon for GB manager too.
  4. I have read this article......and says much about the situation the sport is in. All is rosy in the garden, just tinker with draft riders, tinker with the averages. For months/years the "fans" have been telling the promoters their thoughts and what they dont like about the way Speedway is heading in the Speedway Star and in this forum, even in the last few months in the Speedway star Phil Rising and other contributors have been voicing their opinions. Reading between the lines in the EL sections in the last few weeks there has been gossip about one or two night a week Speedway and other rumours such as squad systems but nothing concrete from the recent AGM. Supporters want a value for money sport , well presented, efficient and colourful! Personally i amnot bothered about losing the "superstar " riders if they were lost to the Eurpoean Leagues if it meant a more cost efficient and susttained sport in Britain.
  5. Chris Harris qualifies to the GPs on merit within the rules, he probably loses money on every GP he rides in but one cannot knock his effort and ambition to do better. Good luck in 2016 Chris and up yours to the people who knock him for trying his best!!
  6. Still seething with the Bomber exclusion, would Tai have been excluded in a similar situation if the World Championship was going down to the wire.....
  7. I went to Rome this year too.....got back three months ago.
  8. Yes he called Sam Masters Rocky B..... Thought the commentary was very good.
  9. Question for Philip Rising , do you know if the ref has apologised yet for excluding Chris Harris?
  10. Sure i read somewhere it was already decided and he was only doing EL and Poland
  11. Job losses at TATA steel at Redcar , Scunthorpe, Lanarkshire....possibly Workington too?
  12. I thought this finally going to be the year for radical changes that there would be planning for the future, that the TR rule would be ditched, there would be many cost cutting suggestions, more promoting of the sport....... As far as im aware there are still many Northern clubs in financial troubles and nothing is going to change that next season, och well.
  13. Over two legs to win.........the head says Edinburgh, the heart says Glasgow....good luck Tigers.
  14. Stop mugging fans at rained off meetings, if its not on dont open the turnstiles.
  15. So as the 2015 season comes to a close i would just like to say a big thank you to all the texters and updaters who have given their time and money to keep us all informed. Cheers.
  16. Great decision by the ref to pull back AJ when he made a great gate!!
  17. I was hoping to come up for this if it was on a Sunday afternoon but cant see me making it now, would mean two days off work. Good luck Glasgow.
  18. Glasgow. Like them or hate them thats the rules, hate TR but stuck with it ........think it might be dumped for next year though. (TR)
  19. Went to this meeting last week and thought the meet was over after heat 3 with the score at 15-3 but fair play to Peterborough for fighting back. Ben Barker looked immaculate, personally did not think he would be back riding this season after the terrible crash in the British Final. Its been five or six years since i have been to Sheffield and the facilites are even better now, all in all a good evening out, the bench mark for all clubs if finances allowed.
  20. So for the Comets last meeting of the season it sees them take on the Dukes of Edinburgh...will it be a case of unbeaten at home all season or going down to the champions elect. Or could be beaten by the weather which does not look good at this stage but things could change. The teams: 1.Wells 2.R/R Rusty Harrison 3.Bach 4.Hansen 5.Howarth 6.Williamson 7. Guest for Wethers. 1.Cook 2.Riss 3.Sedgemen 4.Woelbert 5.Masters 6.Branford 7.Clegg Not sure if this is the correct team order for both teams but should be somewhere near. 42-48......
  21. Why do the moderators let this rubbish clutter up the Forum?
  22. Well done Chris Harris, cannot understand all the people who constantly knock the guy, some of the comments after his success last night were very derrogatry, very strange and immature. Once again well done Bomber.
  23. A great meeting with some very good racing, extra special mentions to Summers and Hansen!! Good to see so many fans come down from Glasgow and make for a good atmosphere, hopefully the Comets can maintain their un beaten run in the final match of the season against Edinburgh (gong to be another tough one).
