  1. Visited Sittingbourne yesterday for the Worky meeting and whilst the stadium is not the best to say the least the effort and enthusiasm of the promotion , staff and fans is evident. The Leagues and stricture is only as strong as its weakest link, the evidence is clear for all to see in the way that so many clubs are in trouble of closure . Some big decisions to be made this winter if not earlier in the way the three or indeed maybe two the Leagues are made up. Very nice of the promoter to come over and chat to the Comets fans .
  2. How about Leicester Lions v Ipswich Witches Premiership 31/07/203 (time).
  3. Great meeting, well done Poland and all the teams all went down to fine margins, in the beginning it looked like a dogfight between GB and Poland , so well done to the Aussies and Denmark for keeping it close. It was evident that changes would be made in the nominated heats for Denmark and GB . Only six points between first and fourth , just shows how even the teams were.
  4. True everything up in the air with the amount of tracks facing problems in running next year , maybe a slightly weaker championship and a weaker Premiership....two League set up , would probably mean the loss of the likes of Doyle , Bewley and Holder etc ...who knows ?
  5. I think a move to championship racing would. be disastrous.for the Comets at this stage.
  6. Who is 100% committed to the Premiership (?) next year Belle vue, Ipswich , Sheffield .
  7. Well I enjoy any Speedway on the telly ( er. Well maybe not !) , stands by for flak , why name riders for the last four heats then two minutes later make a change , GB/ UK/ England did it on Tuesday also. The attempted telephone call issue to the ref by Nicki was comedy gold, he knew the ref was not going to change his mind but just upsetting the flow. Good to see teams like France and Finland mixing it and winning heats against the big boys.
  8. Not a good situation....if anyone needs a break its Chris Harris!
  9. 10. I believe it all went wrong for the ref in heat 5 , he could have held his hand up and said I made a mistake all four back no warnings, this then had a detrimental on heat 15 where there was very slight movement from Wright. A bad day at the office.
  11. Well done Connor , some great racing, what a weekend for Worky
  12. Agree Freddie does some hard moves but that race the bike just ran away from him
  13. Some good racing yesterday despite the scoreline , I thought the ref was pretty lenient to rerun heat 11 when potentially Ace and Aston (twice) could have been excluded. In the rerun Ace was hard but fair to beat Aston Boughen and then a few hormones kicked in at the end of the race. Well done to Leicester , the better team on the day. Despite the forecast the rain held off until the last few heats , then a big downpour after the meeting finished. I was under the impression there would be a collection for the Ben fund ?
  14. Workington come up against Leicester again this season but this time in the KO CUP and it will prove to be another tough test for the Comets side.
  15. I think it was Joe Screen who had “Slave “.
  16. This Saturday afternoon the Workington GT Tyres Comets face the Leicester Lion Cubs in another tough League encounter. The boys will be looking for a win after the defeat last week against Mildenhall.
  17. Not looking good for Eurosport coverage on Saturday , unless they change scheduling later on in the week.
