  1. True I have witnessed many meetings in wet sloppy conditions near the day of the season just to get the meeting completed , indeed watched a Pairs event at Worky when the conditions were less than ideal which was curtailed so as to get a result.
  2. From memory it’s a rough road for vehicles.
  3. So con the public who pay to see 15 heats of racing , not trundling around on a “rideable “ track.
  4. Going to get worse for deliveries in the next few weeks with the proposed Mail strikes.
  5. Well done Poole a thoroughly professional job last night, the second leg is mere formality . Not the most entertaining meeting but it is what it is, just showed in heat 15 if you gate well .....
  6. Good luck to the Tigers, if they can keep the score to a 10 point defeat or less they stand a chance.
  7. According to the leaflet given out at the British final still on pre order -coming soon , £20.00 post free.
  8. The writing was on the wall at least two years before the League win.
  9. Why when next years final will be run before Cardiff 2023?
  10. Well done to all the riders who took part in the 2022 British final, all were competitive and give their all in every race, also well done to the track staff who maintained the racing surface in warm afternoon conditions. Dan Bewley was superb all afternoon although he did have to fight his way from the back on a number of occasions. Tom Brennan a real star for the future who pulled off some great passes. Craig Cook came back from a few weeks out injured and showed he has lost none of his racing hunger with some daring passes on bens four. Danny King was good value for his fourth place but was just edged out . All in all a great afternoon of racing, I hope the Star Wars characters collected plenty of cash for the BEN fund. Well done NSS for putting on a great show. Maryport 1st Bowthorn 3rd.
  11. Well Steve what can I say I thought you would be more mature but this post is one of your worst.
  12. I was there , great racing, decent crowd, really enjoyed it a really entertaining afternoon of racing....more in depth review to follow.
  13. Forecast looks cloudy and dry with little chance of rain
  14. Craig Cook joins the field for the British final on Sunday.
  15. I made a point at the start of the season saying meetings will be taking place in October as usual but was countered by another poster saying there is only 6 teams in the League and matches will easily be completed before October .
  16. Small but good piece in the paper this weekend re Brandon stadium (Oliver Holt) about the stadiums holding memories and good times for fans . Ill try and find the item online.
  17. A local fair/show due to run on the 16th/17th September has been cancelled due to the Queen passing, it was due to be the first one since 2019 after the COVID outbreak. "In 1267 King Henry III granted a Royal Charter to Thomas de Multon (1247-1294), Lord of the Barony of Egremont, for a weekly market on Wednesdays and an annual fair to be held on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September. A modern translation of the original Charter is as follows"
  18. Yes Mike I agree I was being...err I was at the Worky finals freezing my butt off with minimal crowd.
  19. This is a very radical idea, I cannot see it being put in to practice.
