Weather is dry and bright at the minute, one or two showers around for later but nothing that will affect the speedway. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2655819 With Gappmaier moving back to the reserve position for tonight I hope he can get back to the kind of scores we saw earlier in the season.

Berwick 2017 50th Year
screm replied to balderdash&piffle's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Berwick riders in high demand this week as last night saw Jye Etheridge guesting in Leicesters win at Belle Vue where he scored three and one bonus. Its very silly to put all of speedway`s ills at Buster`s door, though I do agree with Cresent Girl that he will be replaced as Chairman at this years AGM, by who though is a completely different argument as you will struggle to name another promoter out there capable of coming up with the radical changes needed and anyway wouldn't any change need the backing of fellow promoters so its not likely to happen anytime soon. More of the same old same old I`m afraid which is turning fans away in their droves. -

Must admit I don`t see the average age of the Berwick supporters getting younger, quite the opposite in fact. Seems like what happens is the very young come, normally with parents but once the teenage years and the 20`s come along those fans disappear largely, probably finding something else to do on a Saturday night rather than speedway. -

Seems to have been an interesting day for Richard Hall, he has ended up with two bent bikes and his shoulder popped out. -
The Kings Lynn team that went to Leicester a couple of weeks ago looked to be the weakest team so far put out in the Premiership, seems Somerset are intent on taking that dubious title.

If that true then Belle Vue Colts should suffer the same fate as Peterborough, once again we have a club riding rough shod over the rules and short changing the public. IMO the BSPA must act. -
According to announcements last night at Berwick, Somerset have enquired about using David Howe, Kevin Doolan and Danny Gappmaier as guests.

Any fool could see that the turn out last night was down on numbers, not unless there was 400 people sitting on the main stand roof, could anyone from the back straight confirm. -

Fantastic to see Craig Cook make SGP next season, certainly returned to top form just at the right time. -

Another good meaning where once again I had value for money, sad then there was not as many there to see it as usual, hopefully those who don`t attend as regular anymore will return as the racing has been of a decent level for most of this season. Congratulations to Nick Morris on his paid max, he had to ride some very tough first turns to do so but he was a class above last night and also delighted to hear that Tero Aarnio`s injury is not as bad as announced last night. -

Didn't fall but had a coming together with Gappmaier on the last corner of the last lap sustaining a broken metatarsal. -

Tero Aarnio a good job for Newcastle last season and is putting in some very decent scores for Scunthorpe this, in fact some match winning scores at times so his scoring tonight will go along way to deciding his side's fate. Sadly for him and Scunthorpe I can only see a reasonably comfortable home win. -

Dont think the dropping of Sedgeman was the problem, it was the almighty cock up that the Ipswich promotion made of it that saw them having to take back a rider they clearly didn't want.
