Berwick Vs Redcar Sat 26th March
screm replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes they have beaten Sri Lanka to qualify for the semi`s in the T20`s World Cup. -
Edinburgh have six days to get their No7 position sorted out, before they face Belle Vue. I`m afraid I don`t have much sympathy for the Monarchs promotion as they`ve had just as much time as everyone else to get their reserve position sorted, they had this idea about signing Mitchel Davey which was only doomed to failure as was pointed out on here.

Been to the football where there was steady drizzle at times through the game, which had turned heavier as I came out. Must say the track looked to be holding up well. -

Think one or two are getting a tad carried away with last nights events, as I posted the other day there is no need to get carried away either way with the result from last night at Redcar and tomorrow night at Berwick, these are challenge matches and you can bet some riders will be using them to test new kit and set ups out. -

A 4pt defeat, without arguably your best rider, isn't such a bad performance especially for the first meeting of the season. Positives for both teams to take into Saturday`s second leg, where hopefully Jorgensen will be back in the Berwick team. -

Fully agree, IMO Carr is the stand out scorer for Berwick. I know he has invested in new equipment, and has worked hard on and gained vital sponsorship for this season. Isn't that typical of early season challengers meetings. -

The bumper edition is always an excellent one, and so far this is no different. Could be quite a poignant edition if Plymouth`s rescue plans don`t come to anything. -

Obviously losing the first two meetings at their new stadium is great, but maybe the Belle Vue promotion should be giving some credit for going for an early postponement, and maybe a lesson has been learned from last weeks events for the grand opening. -

Lets hope a saviour or rescue plan or sponsor can be found that sees Plymouth still able to take their place in the PL.
-
If that happens it would turn a great meeting into a laughing stock. Hopefully Plymouth will still be there, failing that Peterborough should take their place and go through the qualifying system as every other team is doing.

http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news/article.asp?id=2325 This is the Edinburgh statement in all its glory. -
If Plymouth don`t make it then it seems sensible for Peterborough to take their place and qualify for Finals on track and just as host venue, but lets not give up on Plymouth just yet.

Redcar Vs Berwick 24/3/15
screm replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Obviously it would be great if Berwick could get their 2016 season off to winning start but it would be wise not to get carried away whether its a win or loss as some riders will use these meetings to test out new kit. -
Gutted for the promotion, riders and most importantly the fans of Plymouth Speedway, during last season there were reports of tracks struggling so it probably shouldn't come as a complete surprise that at least one club hasn't made it to the start of the 2016 season. One wonders why would the Plymouth promotion wait so late in the day to make this decision, surely it cant be purely down to one poor attendance for last weeks individual meeting. There are now seven riders ready, willing and able to take up a position at another club, that will focus of the mind of a few promoters up and down the Country should their own sides get off to an iffy start.
