I wouldn`t disagree with you but speedway fans up and down the Country are used to seeing their riders racing elsewhere rather than for their own club. Berwick aren`t weakened to much IMO as Nick Morris is a more than capable replacement for Harris.

I see its r/r for Jack Parkinson Blackburn again, I take he is injured. When Belle Vue were at Berwick a couple of weeks ago nobody seemed to know why he was missing.

Sun is out, weather set fair. Major task for the home side tonight and last nights home defeat at the hands of Poole won`t have helped. Redcar do have riders that can cause Berwick problems round Shielfield, hopefully our guests perform and we take advantage of good old R/R 47-43 either way

For a whole variety of reasons I`ve never been confident that speedway would or will ever return to Brandon, this is just another nail in the coffin.

Looks like there has been a major fire at the Brandon Stadium over Thursday night.

Still a very decent field, sadly though no Tai Woffinden to lead Team GB.

I saw Harris had been selected to ride in this meeting and kind of thought it was pushing things to get from Berwick out to Poland for a lunch time start.

Can`t see the club being fined, track work has begun with the postponement of Newcastle`s next home fixture, probably at great expense to Rob Grant. If there isn`t an up turn in attendances especially what has happened in the last couple of weeks Rob Grant could be massively out of pocket.

Taken from Facebook The Newcastle Speedway promotion, along with the sports authorities, have taken the decision to postpone our next home fixture on Sunday 22nd May against Scunthorpe. This is to allow for essential track work to be carried out. The promotion is working with BSP Limited and the Speedway Control Bureau to carry out this work. We will of course keep all of our supporters up to date with this work, and hope to have everything complete and approved in time for our next fixture against Redcar on Sunday 29th

If only it were that easy, Grant was ready to walk away, please remember that. If Grant walks again, its difficult to see Newcastle Speedway surviving, which would be a great shame.

If these photos are accurate about the state of the Newcastle track, its possible we won`t be seeing racing anytime soon until these issues are sorted out

Surely if the home riders were quite happy with track conditions then the referee would've had no option but to continue with the meeting.

Obviously I am not there so can`t comment on specific track conditions for this meeting but its fair to say this meeting wasn`t abandoned due to track conditions because of rain making the track wet and un-rideable. But I will make this point, in cricket there is a rule where the governing body, ECB, can investigate a sub-standard pitch, maybe the BSPA should do the same especially in these circumstances where it would appear a club can prepare a sub-standard track.

Kyle Bickley once again selected by his Polish club Torun in their home meeting with Stal Gorzow in the Polish Under-24 League. Meeting is this coming Tuesday.

Busy weekend for Chris Harris next week as he has been selected to ride for Team GB in the European Team Championships in Poznan Poland. That meeting has a start time of 1pm BST so he will need to hot foot it out of Sheilfield after the Redcar match. Looked out of sorts in his first two rides but very much improved in his last two. Involved in race of the night in Ht9 while leading for the most part.

As others have said probably one of the best meetings I have seen at Berwick in a while, full credit to all 13 riders for their entertainment. Started off with Kyle Bickley setting a new NDL track record in Ht1 but the star of the night was Greg Blair with some incredible over taking especially in Ht9 with a last to first, hopefully that race will be put onto social media later this week as it needs to be seen to be believed. Great night`s racing and those who decide to stay away and miss the Bullets matches need to get themselves there.
