  1. If these photos are accurate about the state of the Newcastle track, its possible we won`t be seeing racing anytime soon until these issues are sorted out
  2. Surely if the home riders were quite happy with track conditions then the referee would've had no option but to continue with the meeting.
  3. Obviously I am not there so can`t comment on specific track conditions for this meeting but its fair to say this meeting wasn`t abandoned due to track conditions because of rain making the track wet and un-rideable. But I will make this point, in cricket there is a rule where the governing body, ECB, can investigate a sub-standard pitch, maybe the BSPA should do the same especially in these circumstances where it would appear a club can prepare a sub-standard track.
  4. Chris Harris making his Polish League 2 debut for PSZ Poznan in their away meeting with Rawicz. Meeting starts at 4pm BST and updates are here, Harris will race in the No4 position. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/relacja/130798/metalika-recycling-kolejarz-rawicz-spechouse-ps-poznan
  5. This is taking from Sportowefaty and translated, so sometimes things are lost in translation, but it appears Walasek also has rib and back injuries. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/999059/zuzel-nowe-informacje-ws-grzegorza-walaska-wykryto-kolejne-urazy
  6. Kyle Bickley once again selected by his Polish club Torun in their home meeting with Stal Gorzow in the Polish Under-24 League. Meeting is this coming Tuesday.
  7. Busy weekend for Chris Harris next week as he has been selected to ride for Team GB in the European Team Championships in Poznan Poland. That meeting has a start time of 1pm BST so he will need to hot foot it out of Sheilfield after the Redcar match. Teams are below, Tai Woffinden obviously has something better to do on that afternoon. Denmark. Leon Madsen, Patrick Hansen, Anders Thomsen, Mikkel Michelsen, Frederick Jakobsen Sweden. Jacob Thorssell, Fredrik Lindgren, Pontus Aspgren, Oliver Berntzon, Kim Nilsson Poland. Patryk Dudek, Maciej Janowski, Janusz Kolodziej, Bartosz Zmarlik' Kacper Woryna GB. Robert Lambert, Dan Bewley, Adam Ellis, Chris Harris, Tom Brennan
  8. Looked out of sorts in his first two rides but very much improved in his last two. Involved in race of the night in Ht9 while leading for the most part.
  9. As others have said probably one of the best meetings I have seen at Berwick in a while, full credit to all 13 riders for their entertainment. Started off with Kyle Bickley setting a new NDL track record in Ht1 but the star of the night was Greg Blair with some incredible over taking especially in Ht9 with a last to first, hopefully that race will be put onto social media later this week as it needs to be seen to be believed. Great night`s racing and those who decide to stay away and miss the Bullets matches need to get themselves there.

  11. Having checked the fixtures, and thanks to the Edinburgh Monarchs, a Newcastle v Berwick KOC Final this year is unlikely.
  12. Its just a pity that at time of writing the Diamonds and the Bandits wont face each other again this season. Maybe a KOC Final.

  14. I wasn't there last Sunday so cant comment on what did or did not happen, though with all arguments there will be two sides to the story. Have to pick you up on the sore losers, where have you been, Berwick have done a fair bit of losing over the last few season so shouldn't have anything to be sore about.
  15. Apology Issues by Club Owner, Rob Grant. Club owner, Rob Grant has issued an apology to his patrons. This comes after strong foul and abrasive actions were directed to them after the completion of Heat 15 on Sunday night against the Berwick Bandits. Rob Grant commented, “we had an excellent uptake with our kids go free promotion and this made me even more annoyed by the actions of certain individuals directing strong and abusive behaviour towards my supporters. I feel even though it’s nothing to do with anyone in the Newcastle camp, I am responsible for the management of the prohibited area of the pits where my supporters were unfortunately targeted and I sincerely apologise for the actions of others. They have been dealt with and this sort of behaviour is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated by Newcastle Speedway. On behalf of Newcastle Speedway please accept my apologies and I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday for a great clash with the Glasgow Allied Vehicle Tigers." Taken from Facebook.
  16. Meeting off due to on going electrical work at the stadium.
  17. I`d be surprised is Bickley has his own equipment out in Poland to use so if he has Torun club bikes you wonder about the maintenance of those bikes.
  18. Disappointing night for Kyle with only 2+1 in his sides home defeat. To get regular racing in Poland he will need to improve his scores.
  19. Kyle Bickley gets another opportunity for his Polish club tomorrow in the ExtraLeague Under-24`s. This time its Torun v Ostrow, a Torun team sees Bickley joined by felloe Brit Jordan Palin. Meeting starts at 4pm and updates are here https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/relacja/131581/ks-torun-u-24-arged-malesa-ostrow-u-24
  20. Said a couple of weeks that I`d be amazed if we see BWD in a Newcastle race jacket again.
  21. Very unlikely Berwick will get anything with only five riders.
  22. As expected Joe Thompson comes into the Wolves to cover for Leon Flint.
  23. Leon Flint dislocated his shoulder at Berwick last night so is likely to be doubtful for his trip to Latvia.
