So your saying Poole speedway is the only business the Ford family are involved with

I dont think so

But it has to make a profit or at least wash its face. It had to be bailed once only which was when Poole went from Prem to Championship. That's why the Fords work so hard with sponsors.

You are spot on with Polish crash

Some riders bounce back from falls sadly it seemed to knock his confidence completely

Was a shadow of himself after a good start to season

Berwick were loyal  others would not have been

Season passes out  nice to see prices frozen but 11 scheduled home meetings ! Gaps all summer again

What about an opening Wofkington one as last year again and maybe a youth championship round or a NL 7 man team challenge

Better get used to having big gaps in the season never going to be like it used to be a weekly fix no wonder fans loose interest.

Last season we had 7 blank Saturdays and finished League fixtures on August 10th, after starting on March 30th and having 6 meetings in first 7 weeks. Yet the powers that be reckon clubs can't do 2H 2A yes we were lucky weather wise but even so.

Same old, like you say though fans will just lose interest.Hard to see attendances growing much.Must suit the Promotions though. The sport at Championship level is on a slippery slope.

We could easily do 2h 2a.

Riders are dictating the sport in GB.Its not going to get any better soon.

Not just the riders, clubs don't want to race off their alternative race night. Redcar for example, mentioned racing 6 non-fridays would lose them money.

Agree wholeheartedly with the need to stay on a regular racenight.  When Berwick went into Div 1, they had only 50% of their regular Saturday crowd turning up on off-nights (which were Fridays).  This is fact, l have all the attendance figures in my possession.

The years may have changed, and of course crowds are smaller nowadays -- but the proportional drop-off from a regular night will remain the same ....

2 previous appearances from Killer at Berwick in 2010, scored 3 on his first visit, 9 on his second. He was a real prospect back then with an all action style. Progressed into the GP's where he seemed to inexplicably fall off a lot whenever other riders got near him. Then seemed to disappear from the scene internationally... has he been any good in recent years? On the face of it you think wow an ex-GP rider in the CL, there must be question marks over him after recent returnees to British Speedway and their struggles, I hope it works out for him, Berwick & Oxford.

Definitely confidence I would say, you look at the setup he has, sponsorship, three bikes etc etc and it all looked fantastic.

He had an early season tumble in Poland and never seemed the same after that, was very cautious in first bend traffic and really looked a different rider from the one that turned up against Workington in the Border Trophy.

The last few meetings of his season he definitely seemed to be getting back some of that confidence, it is just a shame as many have said that we persevered and game him the runway to work through it and he has repaid that faith by chasing a few more dollars.

As disappointing as it is for us I don’t particularly blame him, we’ve all chased the money at one time or another, I just hope it works out for him as I can’t imagine the Glasgow management will have as much patience and it’s clear that the fan base expects nothing less than silverware this season either.

Got to be frustrating for the Banfits losing Freddie after showing him loyalty last season.

Stats are okay abroad. PSD doesn't give stats for 2024 so he maybe didn't race.

I think he will do well, the jury is more out for me reference Cook.

Would imagine promoter losses influences this. It would appear there is no real stomach from promoters currently for 2H/2A.  Rider and associated costs  probably not covered by gate receipts at most clubs so more meetings result in greater losses.

He didn't. Think the closest comparator is Troy Batchelor. Both ex GP, both clearly on the slide, both no longer attracting interest in Poland, but both still able to do a job in Championship. I think 8.5 is probably a pretty fair reflection of his likely scoring.

True in Berwick's case having Glasgow,Edinburgh,Redcar and you guys twice is probably worth it but having Scunny,Oxford,Poole,Plymouth not so much.
