It's this attitude that stinks, and one that British Speedway also seems to abide by. It's all cloak and daggers, and treating the fans with little to no respect. Of course people have the right to know. We're the paying public, without us no speedway club would exist. Many of us have been impacted, and lost out financially for having paid accommodation for meetings that have been cancelled as a result of this. But no....screw us.... we don't matter.

BSPL in all likelihood are in control of statements at this point. The Poole fixture at this moment in time is still on the fixture schedule and has been for a few days. Reading between the lines then I would think the BSPL are confident the situation will be resolved before the Poole fixture .

Even if we are talking one month rather than weeks, they aren't going to be able to do all their fixtures? Haven't they only done 1 league meeting?

Almost unbelievably yes

Cry me a flamin' river!

You do not have a right to know!

Try booking accommodation that can be cancelled, this is speedway, and the British summer

Seriously, it’s that attitude that brings this sport down. I’ve no skin in the game but as someone who quite happily puts money aside each week to attend my club. If I were a working fan I’d be a bit p’d off. Do I think the fans deserve a news letter outlining everything, no. A polite statement to say “we are doing our best and we appreciate your patience” would go a long way. For me speedway is a get together for three generations of our family. We love our trackside evenings out but if that’s in doubt we would spend the money the clubs need elsewhere. In an age of social media and public image speedway needs to do better. The days of waiting for the star to come out are gone. What could really save the sport is public engagement not secrecy.

Just out of interest, did you throw a hissy fit, and get this dramatic, a few months ago when Marks & Spencer had a major I.T. problem, and all their online business was shut down for over 2 months?

Did you get all angry and demand answers from M&S when they said they had a "cyber issue" just as you have when Workington said they had an "administration issue"?

To be honest, I'm not that bothered if Workington's fixtures are moved back a couple of weeks.  I was rather worried about M&S, knowing that they had my credit card details.    However I sat it out, and trusted M&S and the regulatory bodies to sort it out.  I didn't feel the need to demand further private details of whether they were being held to ransom by Russian hackers.   So, I'm just curious why you're getting so hysterical about a couple of weeks of sorting some visa paperwork.

To be fair m&s did give out vouchers to those affected will Worky 😄

Taken from the 'Working' Comets website...

"We would like to sincerely thank our loyal supporters, sponsors, and riders for their incredible patience and understanding during what is undoubtedly a challenging time.

We will continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes and will provide further updates as soon as possible."

You keep intouch with yourself Mgas.

I blame the internet

Beyond your passive aggressive angry little person response. Thank you for pointing this out I’d missed it. That’s exactly the kind of statements I’d expect in this situation even if it was over due. I sincerely wish the comets all the best.

Good grief. Let’s hope you never have to run a business with that attitude. You’d go bankrupt quicker than Workington.

he must think Workington speedway do not have customers. he must work for the government, they dont like us having rights.

I think it’s maybe his hero worship and idealisation of the Comets and the ownership that means he could potentially have the blinkers on.

So it turns out that the company has indeed been dissolved as Bona Vacantia. The warning to the company is now published on Companies House. For those who don’t realise, this means that anything and everything owned by the company is now the property of HM Treasury. This means the stadium, track prep equipment and all other assets have been seized. Any bank accounts will have been frozen as well.

This is not an “admin error” no matter what Steve Lawson says. They will have had 3 written warnings from Companies House plus a notification of the court hearing to wind up and strike off the company. They have ignored all of them it seems.

Anyone who thinks they can get this resolved quickly is in fantasy land. It’ll take several weeks just to get a preliminary hearing at the High Court to try and reinstate the company never mind a full hearing.

It doesn't necessarily mean this is the company the club has been running under. He may have started another Limited company to run the club. Ater all it says 'Northside Speedway Training Track Limited'.

He is not listed as being a director of any other active company. This is all a matter of public record.

That is the company the club was run under. They’ve ignored the warnings for a while now.

For all the good work Andrew has done he’s made a right royal mess of this. Not a slight error as what they’re trying to make out. Hopefully they can sort it but be surprised if it’s any time soon.
