LisaColette Posted yesterday at 08:20 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:20 AM (edited) https://oxfordspeedway.club/2025/05/cheetahs-looking-for-bsn-series-progress/ This is pretty much a knockout competition now! Should be a close one, depends on JJ and Gilkes for them imo. Edit- didn't realise Heeps was carrying an injury? If using r/r can everyone have a ride? Not sure on averages. Heeps is 2nd in Oxford's averages(6.61) so anyone can take his r/r rides.
Steve Shovlar
Heeps is notoriously crap around Poole.

szkocjasid
I don't understand why Schroeck has put r/r at 2. It just means Masters will take his extra ride against the weakest second string & a reserve. Is that really the best use of arguably the best rider in the league? I suppose if you think you're gonna get thrashed, then it's a good move, putting your best man in the easiest heat to give yourself a better chance of picking up 30 points! But I would say it's a negative tactic. That being said, I don't think there was any thought put into it, just the usual "r/r always goes at 2" attitude, which a great many managers follow, not just Schroeck. No doubt if a Poole rider was missing, it would make you much weaker. Will miss my usual chat with the late Steve Pijper prior to the meeting tomorrow (Steve will be much missed) but still looking forward to hopefully a strong performance from Cheetahs tomorrow. Heeps is not that good around Poole, and with Masters taking one of his rides, that's a good chance of 3pts straight away

Obviously we would be weaker but Heeps is usually poor at Poole and is probably one of the worst number 5's in the league.
szkocjasid
If it's a draw & Poole win the superheat, Poole would go through with a record of 1 win, 2 draws & 1 loss. Oxford could go out with a record of 2 wins, 2 draws! Of course the second place team may also qualify too. ASpeedwayfan
Oxford are no doubt stronger with Heeps not riding but shouldn’t be enough to beat Poole on the night I expect it to be close but the pirates to always be in control. You would think Masters will need to go unbeaten for Oxford to have any chance. Which could happen, he would do well to beat all of Lawson Rowe Zach and Kerr in one meeting tho. But Masters does get a guaranteed race win in heat 8! Also a chance for Kerr to show what he can do in what should be a big home crowd.
