Meeting was good with some very good racing at times, especially Bewley at the end. Hopefully I will remember tomorrow. If anyone is interested, SpeedwayRUS (think he has just changed the stream name) has every Polish, Swedish and Premiership match televised online a few minutes after it has ended. Download Telegram, search for this channel and watch speedway out your ears. Yeah yeah coz u did, you only "forgot" as you put it coz no one with any current Poole connection was riding, if there was you would be over this thread like a rash and posting after every heat, and silly me i "forgot" you'd "forget" as in your eyes any Speedway that doesn't include Poole or an attached rider ain't worth commenting or watching. 1
Odds On
Best Grand Prix for many a year, racing was superb and very entertaining, after all isn't that sector we are in nowadays? People will moan about this that and t'other....but it was like a breath of fresh air compared to the "racing" thrown up at Cardiff....lets get the product right on the track then concentrate on improving the race night off track experience. Bravo to all concerned, Belle Vue you did Great Britain proud last night.
salty
Great racing last night. Shows how good the sport can be. Don’t like the new scoring system - let’s hope it’s for one year only.
BackInTheDHSS
I was there last night and it was…well, a bit of a shambles. However, the racing was fantastic. And that pretty much sums it up. For those attending, Cardiff is better as you get sucked in by the atmosphere and the facilities etc. But for those watching on TV Belle Vue is far better. Both have positives and negatives, but overall I think the former always outweighs the latter (don’t think I would keep going otherwise). Belle Vue is never going to match Cardiff as an occasion, but it far surpasses it for enjoyment of racing. Depends which is more important to you. This isn’t a post trying to pick one over the other, just more a reflection on the fact it’s a shame we can’t have both. One Grand Prix at each, like originally planned, would be the dream outcome for me.

Steve Shovlar
lol I genuinely forgot it was on. To make it worse I was in Sutton Coldfield until 3pm and then drove back to Poole. I would easily have headed to Belle Vue and watched it live had I remembered it was on. Loads of empty seats so no issue in getting a ticket. ShanoXtra
Great riding last night. The first four heats had me worrying that they messed the track prep up but boy did it impress for the rest of the night! Zmarzlik couldn’t get to grips with how many lines were available at first and didn’t know where to defend when leading. Some really great racing! As an Ipswich fan you do worry about Doyle. I think he has come back way too early and couldn’t do what needed to be done with movement etc on that bike, we always knew he would try this weekend but something makes me think he is still pushing himself too hard and Madsen and Dudek would have mixed it better. My partner spoke to Emil at foxhall on Thursday after the meeting (fluent Polish so I couldn’t understand!) and she asked if any news on the SGP next year, he just said unfortunately with how the situation is that it isn’t his time at the moment and when she said it’s sad because the years are passing by he agreed and said “I know but I can’t do anything although I want to be in it”. I do hate when politics ruins sports.

If not THE best. My bet for tonight..... Zmarzlik all the way, BV not his best track...but he learned a lot last night and will be watching playbacks today learning more lines.

I would like to see the GP in the northwest somewhere, somewhere like Newcastle or in that area but it doesn’t really matter where it is as long as there is something for the travelling supporters to enjoy of which before or after the meeting last night there wasn’t, we all want great racing but the GP is a circus and when it comes to town it needs to be an event
Hawk127
Other than the normal speedway websites, the world at large seems to know nothing of last nights event. Out of curiosity I went on the Manchester Evening News site and did not notice any report, did a search on Dan on the BBC website and the only story I could find was 2018 when he had equipment stolen. Such a shame that not even the GP is properly promoted with WB behind it. What a sad state.

From queues to get in, duplicate tickets, tickets for seats that didn’t exist, ridiculous long lines for food and drink, if you joined it on a track grade you’d miss a full section of the meeting and be back for the next track grade. Sad to hear this! Everyone wanted to have the best evening out and stuff like this doesn’t help the fans to come back who aren’t die hard. Hope the racing made up for it for you though and you enjoyed it as much as you could! No body wants to see this fail, at the end of day whether you’re from a rival club of Belle Vue or not, this is to show how good British speedway tracks can be to the world. Odds On
cannot for the life of me understand people moaning about about last night's meeting....race track was good in fact very good, no gate and go, no sitting on the white line, a racers and fans dream of a track. Gollob was the master of Bydgoszcz and was lauded by us all, it is very early days but Dan Bewley is certainly going the right way with Belle Vue, and there's hardly mention of heroics and bravery last night, yet there's some who try and find fault with just about anything. Embrace it and get behind it. Edited Saturday at 08:55 AM by Odds On
