I don’t see Boughen riding for Lynn again tbh… I heard Buster say to someone as I was walking past “I want and need someone that’s actually going to try” 🤷🏻‍♂️ but hopefully he “rides” one more meeting for us and pulls out on Thursday after heat 2 with his “shoulder injury”… Jan Kvech can take Ashton’s other 2 rides then 👍🏻

Doesn't coming into a meeting with a known injury, and then pulling out with it, mean no replacements allowed?

I think that used to be the rule to prevent exactly what you describe happening and teams getting a clear advantage...

Who knows what the rules are now though...?

And they may change by Thursday anyway...;)

Options to replace rising stars this year are very limited as Leicester and Kings Lynn are finding especially when young upcoming prospects like Harrison,Scott feel that they are not ready. Looking at the list Sam Hagon is probably the best option currently available

Dan isn't the RS so there would be his 5.06 available for a replacement

I totally agree with Buster then!! If Boughen scores 0,0,0 so be it as long as you could see he tried. Its the giving up in every race that really pi$$es me off. This is the reason he has to go.I would rather see someone else come in,even if they scored 0 as long as they didn't give up and you could see the effort going in.Boughen actually scored us -1 last night, when he fell Iversen was comfortable in the lead, then  of course we all know what happens in the re-runs😮‍💨

When he took his fall you would normally expect the race may be awarded - quite strange that it wasn't really. Perhaps he needed to have given it another lap before taking the dive......;)

What about being declared fit to ride, but then gently slipping off in your first ride and then “aggravating” an old injury and being unable to continue?

A few things to take from last night

Emil world class for 4 rides and 2 rides he was uninterested in

King and Brennan scored the points we needs from them

Ellis and Lambert disappointing

Jenkins with a fantastic performance

Boughen first shouldn't he be banned for refusing his 3rd ride for Glasgow? Also he was close to being lapped before "falling" and withdrawing from the meeting. I thought heat 8 was protected so why is the other reserve allowed in? Just opening up to this being exploited this season.

Technically it probably wasn't -1 as he 'injured' his shoulder allowing Kvech to ride in heat 8 so more than evened itself out ;)

I'll take 6 points. 8 to 10 would have been better, but at least it's a lead. Hope the rain doesn't cause a call off till later in the season when doyle and Thompson are potentially back - as that will make our life a little bit harder - although Ben would hopefully be back as well...

Isn't Ipswich like his worst track? As much as I like Ben might be better to have a guest around there.

Anybody that can put a bit of effort in and finish a race ticks the box at the moment.

Yes, Ben Cook simply can’t ride it for toffee. They want to pray there isn’t too much rain because this is the only chance of progressing as they’ll likely get. A re-staging with Ben Cook in the Lynn side and Ipswich at full strength would give them zero chance with all due respect.

A dodgy and desperate move by Kings Lynn to withdraw Boughen to  get Kvech an extra ride.

He was at least half a lap behind and he just stopped riding the fourth bend allowing the bike to gently roll in to the fence, jumping off it before it did so.

He was not holding his shoulder as he walked back to the pits. Did he aggravate an old injury……maybe, we’ll never know but Heat 8 effectively won the meeting for the Stars.

The fantastic speedway updates mentioned that it was very dusty but I didn't see any. I thought the track was spot on given the sun and breeze.

It was dusty in the first 3-4 heats, I was at the back of the grandstand and I was getting dust in my eyes, which has never happened before when I’ve been sat up there 🤷🏻‍♂️

What is the point of heat 8 being a protected heat if the stronger reserve can be brought in if the RS gets injured. The stronger reserve should start from 15m to stop this being manipulated.

Sensible idea...could even extend to a second ride if RS is injured in first ride to make up their minimum 3 rides.

British speedway though, so will never happen.

Clearly Ashton wasn't in a good place from his Glasgow match last week. Should have put his hand up and sat out last nights meeting, allowing stars to get a replacement
