Lions v Aces

I think it was! Quite probably you still would have lost - but it shows BV up as weak without him, and Bewley aside none of the others (despite working hard in the pits) really showed much fight!

Same as Ipswich. When your built with a top 2 and ones missing it impacts the team  more

No not really we have the best number 6 in the league who was scoring 8 and 9 a meeting …. Replaced by riders scoring 1 and 2…. Huge swing in meetings

Thanks for a reply at last. The reason for being particular about league meetings is since you started this crusade last year there are many on here who genuinely believe Brady picks and chooses his meetings. I couldn’t understand why, on a subject you know well, you weren’t putting them straight. Why keep quiet? The reason is you don’t want the full facts discussed as you have an agenda.

A fit Brady has ridden in one championship qualifier whilst subsequently missing a Belle Vue fixture. There was a Polish meeting that due to his injury he did not complete and missed a later Aces meeting. For Brady’s other injuries  he has not ridden elsewhere then missed the UK then ridden elsewhere. Fans in this country seem to think injured riders should return to the track when fit, in the UK first which is ridiculous as we can go three weeks without a fixture.

Now we come to the individual world championship meeting. This is the hardest to grasp for me. During the fifty odd years I’ve followed the sport I first came across a rider chasing championship glory whilst injured in 1977 when PC rode in Sweden with a leg full of stitches. The media, the fans and other riders only had glowing tributes to pay him for his bravery. The fact he didn’t turn out for Belle Vue despite being “well enough” to come second wasn’t even a talking point. This was the case with Kenny Carters British Final triumph with a broken leg and all the others who have ridden at championship level over the decades whilst injured and missing domestic league meetings. They can only let themselves down when taking the risk to ride but should they chance it in a team meeting then it’s not just them who may suffer.

Anyone who has anything but admiration for riders in this situation, I’m sorry to say, is a disgusting speedway fan and a disgraceful human being.

We’ll part ways now, so you can troll without rebuke. I would ask though that when it concerns injured riders, please tone it down a bit if not stop completely.

No keyboard warriors in those days

It would have been pointless Brady trying to ride on Thursday then subsequently pulling out due to his injury. It happened last year against Sheffield. You have to admire the riders commitment to their UK club but they need to be realistic.

Ive even seen several clowns say Belle Vue should be annoyed Brady riding tonight …… he has to come back somewhere for one of his club sides and hopefully all being well will be at Belle Vue Monday as Dan plans to be.

Indeed but IF an injury occurred come playoff time that impacted riding in the U.K. / Poland or in the final GPs it might prove more of a dilemma etc for both Brady and the fans - let’s hope that doesn’t happen!

Last year I would agree with that - so far in 2025 not so far in my view

Even allowing for the fact Thompson rides so well at BP I think a Jasonless Ipswich would have lost by far less on Thursday!

I suppose also you need to factor in Ipswich and Leicester generally do well or better at each others tracks than Bv!

I wouldn’t agree with that at all. Last year Ipswich coped absolutely fine without Doyle and we’re still winning everywhere and still clear at the top of the table. It was only when Emil then crashed out at Sheffield that it became too much to overcome and we didn’t then win another meeting! Lost the last 11 I believe.

Maybe meant the year before 😅

i get confused more easily - I suppose I am saying BV more top heavy than Ipswich for sure this season

No! No! No!

He won tonight, fair enough, but where was he in front of around 800 or so pensioners on Thursday? :D

With him not turning up, they had 20 camping chairs empty...:D

Well this debate just took a new twist - good stuff from both Brady and Jason well done both - really good to see Jason looking more like his usual self and also DanB!

So how many times have you done the league and cup double, surely as team as dominant as the aces must have done the double quite a few

Double 3 times, Treble 3 times.
