Some fans are very hard to please.

You think it's bad on here, you should see it on X 👀🙈

if comets win bonus point i think half of comets fans will collapse in shock

😁 Really will depend on Bowes/Jye/ Hook combination as the others can ride Poole all right.

Generally anything over 10 points can be hard to pull back as Worky can just sit on 3-3s if needed.

After a terrible start, the Pirates won heats 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, and 15. But only recorded 3 heat advantages, all 2-4's .

When you won Ht's 9, 10, 13, 14, and 15, you also run a last. Even after that  bad start, it could of be very close.

From heat 5 it was 32-34, the damage was done in the first 4 races

Unexpected win today against the league leaders. Thought 44-46 but was delighted to be wrong. Some cracking close races with every point being scrapped for, which is how it should be. It takes two teams to make an entertaining meeting and Poole played their part so thank you. It was the Comets fantastic start that ultimately proved too much to overcome on this occasion which was nice after being put to the sword at home twice last season by the Pirates. Congrats to the mechanics, not one mechanical failure during the meeting.

Thank you to members of the wider Speedway fraternity who turned up to show their support for the Comets, it was much appreciated. Let's hope we can get the message to more local people to give it a go while trying to improve the quality of entertainment on offer during the 2hours or so of the meeting.

It was great to see the riders coming round today almost without exception when   winning races. Congrats to the Comets on a solid team performance without exception- brill !

That performance was just reward for Andrew Bain who has had a tumultuous couple of weeks, thank you.

It was But you had a chance with heat wins in  ht 9, 10,13, 14, and 15,but the heat winners had no back up, from there partner. They all ran lasts. So you could of made it very close by the end.

But they didn't   Poole on this showing today are not as good as their fans think they are, especially when poor Workington beat them like this 😁

Wasn’t a spanking. Was merely giving them a false sense of excitement before the real stuff kicks in

If 51-39 is a spanking, 54-36 is definitely a spanking 😂

Well did not see this result coming at all, but very happy days 😁 solid scoring by all the comets to deserve the win,I hope more comete fans return next week to cheer them on.

as for the pilots imo a couple of worrying riders, kerr very up and down, and the new young hope, cairns, well imo I think he is doing too much riding too soon, Thurs Sheffield Fri Edinburgh stat worky and very few points scored, hope all the Poole fans enjoyed watching on the stream 🤪

I have said that about Cairns, everyone wants a bit of him.

Excellent stream by the way, apart from the result

Being top of the league, obviously they haven't always rode this bad

Seeing as how I love my stats, before today's match, 2025 averages.

Starke 4.07, Foord 3.37, Ritchings 2.50.

One bad meeting does not mean Starke was a poor signing, remember he was signed on an average below 4!

I know Poole don't like to lose (who does) but this loss doesn't really cost them, they'll still finish comfortably in the top 4.

Even after today's match, Starke (4.00) has a higher 2025 average than Foord (3.65).

Pity the meeting started at Heat 1 do you get anything winning from Heat 5 ?.

I know that, just pointing out the fact, meeting was killed off after first four heats

I love how the immediate reaction of some Poole fans after a loss is to want riders to be sacked. Was exactly the same after the home loss to Oxford earlier in the season. Such a bunch of bad losers, with no real love for those that ride for them.

Starke has had a few bad meetings, Foord will have a higher average by the end of the season.

It's certainly possible, Starke riding at 6 & Foord riding at 7, makes that easier to happen.

I notice that Starke's home / away split is level 4.00/4.00, whereas Foord is much stronger at home 5.56 / 2.50, with Foord having more away matches left to race than home.

I would've been happy keeping Foord if I was a Pirates fan, but also feel Starke has done his job & doesn't deserve the criticism he gets. He was signed on a 3.5 average, why do people keep saying "he wasn't the rider he once was" of course he isn't, if he was the rider he once was, he wouldn't have been available on such a low average & the team would've been above the limit!

Yep re declare and get a 5 pointer and 4 in.

Needs to be done. Starke just gates, occassionally, then just gets picked off. We can all see it. Any opposition rider with fighting spirit will get by, just like Vinnie did yesterday. There must be better riders out there who could come in on a four. If we don’t act, it will seriously bite us on the bum in the playoffs.

I was very critical of Kerr at the start of the season. He just wasn’t doing his job. Engine failures, poor on track and generally well short of what is expected. To his credit he did improve and start to show the reason why Matt signed him. But yesterday it was all back to utterly disappointing. When he was really needed to step up he went completely AWOL. Vinnie Foord dealt with him without issue. The difference between a rider who wants it and one that is just going through the motions sitting in a bike.

There are young riders out there in Poland or Scandinavia who would do a much better job than these two.

How will replacing a 6.5 rider & a 4 point rider with 5 & 4 pointers strengthen the team?

By bringing in young riders with an appetite to race, not ride.

If they found 2 superstars, then yes I'd agree with you, however signing a 5 & 4 points assessed rider would take Pirates over the points limit.

Far too early to say but the most recent new foreigners Nagel & Klima haven't set the league on fire (yet). Would Poole be able to find 2 x 4 pointers better than Kerr & Starke (a 5 & 4 doesn't fit)? I'd also assume Glasgow & Plymouth signed the strongest riders willing to come over.
