That excuse from Shovlar is absolutely comical.

Good to see Workington comeback and get a big win. Tate Z seems to be regaining some form, Worky look a different animal if he stays fit and keeps this form up. Two good scores in two nights should do him the world of good.

Regarding Kerr, to be honest he was a weird Poole signing from the get go. On the way down, very rarely completes a full season and very little scope for improvement. Starke you knew what you were going to get but has added to his average, absolutely zero point dropping him now.

People going on about Foord yet his average is half a point below Starke according to a few on this thread and Starke is taking more rides as well.

According to the BSPL website (2025 averages):

Starke: Home 4.90 - Away 4.90 - Overall 4.73

Foord: Home 5.60 - Away 3.50 - Overall 4.87.

GSA's: Starke 4.00 - Foord 3.65.

I agree,I think Kerr was a strange signing.Hard to see who was available in GB though.

And Foord a far more entertaining rider who wants to race. Plus it would have given a little more scope for team building at the start of the season. The Poole fans loved Vinnies battles and attitude last season. All water under the bridge now though. Perhaps next season he could be considered if he wants to come back. (He might not want to)

Kerr was signed on Richard Lawson's recommendation to Matt Ford. Also when team building if Vinnie had been retained then the 1-5 would have changed due to points limit. My own opinion is that TVT would have gone if Foord had stayed ( nb. Vinnie would have been in the 1-5) as Starke plus a 2-pointer were already confirmed to start at reserve!!!

Foord had a higher average than Starke at the start of the season, wouldn't have given the team any points spare to strengthen elsewhere.

Poole were almost a point below the limit. Using Foord would still have left them well I feel the limit. It was a straight choice Starke or Foord.

Foord would have been in place of Starke at reserve, if they wanted Foord he would have been signed before Starke was considered, my own opinion is that Starke was signed because it was decided not to have Foord.

Wasn't Starke signed well before the end of last season though? Like few months before. Prob was between Tobi/Vinnie/Hagon.

If that was the case. I'd presume they preferred Starke & Foord was never in their plans? Can't see them planning to build a team over 1.5 below the limit by putting Foord in the top 5. Can't imagine they'd sign anyone other than a temp 2.00 number 7 if they were saving a spot for Cairns?

Poole is in the title thread, Poole riders were in the meeting, so it is on topic lol. If you want to talk about the meeting, no one is stopping you.

If that was the case that was a bit short sighted of the promotion. Vinnie is far more likely to improve over the season.

The title of this topic refers to the recent meeting between Workington and Poole. Any general discussion about the whys and wherefores Poole have the team line up they have, should be discussed under the general "Poole" section !

They prob just wanted someone experienced in at reserve with Will. You don't know what Vinnie will do meeting to meeting. He has the potential to improve more than Starke but too unpredictable to call in the winter. Although seems a bit calmer now!

The problem is, if someone commenting on the meeting says "this proves Foord is better than Starke" people are going to want to give an opinion in this, which naturally involves who Poole started the season with.

If someone replied to a message on this thread on the Poole thread, people wouldn't understand the reply.

I agree with what you are saying in principle, but meeting threads can expand into other subjects without that being planned.

Maybe if the Workington fans are not happy with this thread they could dissolve it and start a new one and blame everyone but themselves and their promotion for the direction it's gone in and how its ended up.💣 just putting on my body armour and tin hat😁
