Lots of talking points. Poor Tobias probably doesn’t know where his arse from his el ow is after tonight. Rotten luck in heat 6 when on a 5-1 with Lawson. Looked from the grandstand that he tried to cut to the inside down the back straight but clipped the back of Lawson which brought them both down. Then in heat 8 a coming together with Foord which again saw them both in the deck. I certainly wouldn’t have given Tobias his last ride but I am not Middlo. Rowe in heat 7. Not sure what happened. Did a footrest go through his front wheel? His handlebars were wobbling all over the place and he had to stop. Lawson was excellent as always. Tobias had a poor night. Kerr did OK. Three gated wins then faded. Just can’t pass. Cook started as usual poorly but was much better after that. Thought he should have got heat 14. Rowe wasn’t at his best. Stark did his usual. Cairns paid 9 good effort. For Workington Batchelor did his usual tailed off at the back then won a race. Bowes was excellent. Etheridge best ever performance at Poole. Normally about 4 points. Violas was pretty rubbish to be honest. Hook had his best ever meeting at Poole by far. Foord was miles off it until heat 8 with a kamikaze move which ended his night. Some good hard racing with plenty of passing. How clear are we at the top now? No idea but feel confident of top spot. Well done Workington for putting up a fight and making it entertaining. Tobias' action was strange, I had a good view from apex of 1&2, he seemed to pick up some unexpected drive through 2 and rode straight up the back of Lawson, have to say that it did appear avoidable. That one event altered the whole match imo, Poole's momentum was stopped in it's tracks, taking out Vinnie made matters worse cos he wasn't ridding well. In all honesty the Comets didn't exactly win the bonus point, but Poole did throw it away. The frustrating meeting I've seen by far. I don't hold a grudge against Tobias but he did loose the Pirates a point tonight. Edited July 23 by Bitza
Mr Blobby
10 minutes ago, Gavan said: I know the league isn’t won in July As an Ipswich fan we were touted as the best team in the top league but injuries and certain riders off form means we aren’t certain of winning anything as proven by Kings Lynn being the better side over 2 legs in the cup beating us fair and square Most , not all , Poole fans on here are awful losers …. Maybe these 2 matches have given them a reality check that the league isn’t a cakewalk The fact is they have been beaten over 2 legs by Workington … it doesn’t matter when in the season it is April or July they lost … Workington had their two top riders off form and their third heat leader missing Poole are the best side in the league but they can get complacent … no offence to Workington but if they can beat Poole over 2 legs then others certainly can Feel they covered Tates score fine, Bowes and Ethridge basically counter acted the top 2 would never of had them down for scoring what they did. Especially Jye as he’s normally awful on the road.

Its what happens in the playoffs that matter!!

Edit - fair play to Tate for coming down to Poole to watch/support (Worky) the meeting. Didn't have to do that. I'm over it as it's irrelevant because it wasn't a knockout meeting so nothing gained nothing lost. It's u Kermits that are playing on what if's.......what if it was the cup, what if it was the grand final etc Fact is it was an irrelevant bonus point so ur welcome to it 😛 😁

It is encouraging for them though. Chances of Bowes and Ethridge scoring paid 27 between them again are slim to none. Agree and you won't hear me talking about Worky winning the only remaining trophy open to us. If we manage to make the playoffs and have our full team intact I will reassess then. The chances of Bowes and Etheridge scoring paid 27 between them again are slim but, for Bowes in particular that was a great first outing at Wimborne Rd and will have instilled a sense of confidence in both riders that they could go back and give another good account of themselves.

Pinny
I am no Poole fan by any means, in fact I find Shovlar, SteveLyric, Starman, Lisa Collette etc unbearable. But some of the comments on here are well off. You can't say Workington would of won with Batch on form, Voulas on form, if Foord had finished the meeting, if Tate Z had rode etc. Riders have good and bad nights, look at Poole. Thomsen having a nightmare, Rowe being well off it clearly not fit. It is more likely that those two have a good meeting than Batchelor and Voulas away from home so it is probably a case of Workington being lucky those pair were off form. Foord as I have posted elsewhere is well over hyped and done absolutely nothing before crashing out. Hasn't exactly set the world on fire this season either so his score of 1 away from home is not exactly surprising. And from looking at the results, the Comets seemed to cope with no Tate pretty well only dropping two points from his rides. So as much as it would of been good to see Poole get spanked, I think the comments about Poole being lucky are off the mark.

Given the recent doubts over the club's future, it's hardly surprising that supporters should celebrate what to you may seem a very minor success. There is a bigger picture out there.

On the heat that unfortunately ended up in the crash he was flying around the bends and had already passed Thomsen. He probably would've railed in Cairns aswell who was hugging the inside line. Good, young rider with plenty of years left to learn his trade. So far he's done exceptionally well for a reserve rider. Shame on you for slating a young lad. Also, are you certain you aren't a Poole fan because that was a lot of arse-licking for Poole there.
