Poole v Plymouth Championship

Recommended Posts

Poole win at home. Instead of being happy with that or congratulating Plymouth on keeping it tight.

NO.... the Poole fans slag off their own riders, the track and everyone else because Plymouth actually made a match of it.. HOW DARE THEY.  I know it's Pooles God given right to win by a mile every meeting, but a little humility wouldn't go a miss.

Still Poole "big fish, little pond" !

We also didn't have Leon or Ashton in our away match at Poole, since then Dan and Leon have hit some good form but we still have a bit of a mental block regarding racing at Poole, if we can overcome the Monarchs in our KO cup match then we will see how we fare at Poole then. ( although we have a big job to overcome the monarchs as they ride our track very well)

Leon helping Redcar win could come back to haunt Tigers though .

For Poole Lawson was his usual excellent self. Tobias poor, Kerr let a silly third place go on the last bend when not concentrating, Cook poor never looked like winning a heat and looked like he was standing still when Nicholls passed him, Rowe tried but not got the form of earlier this season. Starke did his job, and Cairns showed good form until his last ride when he was completely asleep at the tapes.

We really do need to step up our form, but at the same time we are still winning. The track needs attention though, sooner rather than later.

I'd say 7+2 from 4 rides, from a 4 point rider pretty decent myself.

I'd also say 6+1 from 4 rides from Cairns, who is just 16 was decent as well. Not sure i would of felt the need to mention his poor gating in his last ride. Just my opinion of course.

The usual suspects are quite today. Maybe the penny has dropped and they now know pilots are not as good as they think, the other play off teams must be licking their lips looking forward to meeting Poole over 2 legs

Must admit, don't think Poole are favourites this year, has to be Glasgow for me, but never right Poole off, we all know who they are come the playoffs.

On the subject of being quiet, don't think we will hear much from you, after the Glasgow match tomorrow night

While I appreciate that Neila is just having a pop at Poole, the reality seems to me to be that generally Poole supporters are only too aware, that this season isn't going to be like last year. The Pirates are still a strong team for sure, but riders aren't being very consistent or finding their best form at this point, Lawson being the obvious exception, and you might well include Kerr too. So it's an obvious concern going into the sharp end of the season, hence fans' on line comments.

Did you not read my post after the meeting? Or are you just making things up?

Will had shown such good form in his previous rides, it seemed almost nailed on he would continue the form considering he was in the favoured gate 4. But he made a complete hash of the gate and was left for dead entering the first bend. The track at that stage offered nothing (it didn’t most of the meeting) and he couldn’t get near to Perry.

No one is expecting much of Will this season. Just ride to his average, do his best, and that’s enough. Anything extra is a bonus.

I will be about, but probably not till Saturday morning, after I've driven back from supporting the comets at Glasgow

In the rider interviews at the end Will said there was nothing in gate 4 in the later heats - it was bald!. Also I don't quite understand why Poole chose 2&4 in heat 15?

I thought both reserves rode well, this issue is how can Zach ride so well for Belle Vue but not so good at Poole and how can Toby ride well at Kings Lynn and not so well last night.

Poole riders were not happy with the track.

Riders do priorities there equipment, particularly zach would be logical to keep his best for belle Vue,might be different in the playoffs
