No Victor Palovaara for Edinburgh due to illness and they go with R/R. Given the recent performances of both teams this should be fine, but I've got a sneaky suspicion this might be quite a tough fixture.

Teams from Edinburgh website:

Friday 8th August: Edinburgh Monarchs v Scunthorpe Scorpions (Championship), Armadale, 7:30pm

STELLAR MONARCHS: Rider replacement for Victor Palovaara, Paco Castagna (Capt.), Justin Sedgmen, Kye Thomson, Michael Palm Toft, Jonatan Grahn, Jordy Loftus.

ELLIE ROSE SCORPIONS: Steve Worrall, Zaine Kennedy, Luke Harrison, Connor Mountain, Jake Allen, Declan Kennedy, Simon Lambert (Capt.)

I think the monarchs will be fine they have enough strength in depth at home.

What should be a straight forward home win on paper, but you never know.

No Victor meaning anyone can have a ride, still can’t have any passengers with him missing. Really need MPT to stand up tonight and put in a decent performance as he’s yet to do so (apart from scunny).

R/R for Victor, at first glance, looks like it's weakening the Monarchs quite substantially, especially given his home average of 9.23.

However, from his 3 meetings at number 1, he's only averaging 6.77. Compare this to the 'replacement 4':

JS - 7.77

MC - 6.46

KT - 5.82

MPT - 5.67

...it may just about be manageable.

Castagna and MPT in heat 13. I may have to hide behind the home straight sofa at that point!

He missed his Swedish meeting and has been ill, hardly the same is it.

Perhaps Plymouth should just go with a 2-7 team, number 1 has been jinxed for the last 3 or 4 years

Come on now Lewy, One is ill and the other is sitting in a hotel in Poland cause he doesn’t want to risk getting injured for Poland on the Sunday.

You just keep playing the rules.

So he will miss next Friday's home meeting and the meeting next Wednesday at Glasgow when suspended for 7 days due to his illness?

Due back next Saturday at Workington?

VP missed Oxford's match last night, 7 day suspension would start then.

So VP gets a 7 day ban for genuinely being sick while Nicolai Klindt is allowed to pick and choose his meetings as he sees fit, absolutely absurd!

Quite a lot of rules need sorting out.

If you're going to have a rule it should be enforced... it's a tiny thing but the flashing light wasn't flashing on the tractor last night at Ippo, it's in the rulebook, so should be enforced... if not, get it out of the rulebook!

Light is not flashing on the Edinburgh tractor tonight 🚜🚨

Think the ref must be blind if he can not see the home rider should of been excluded.

He didn't exclude Jake Allen for doing the same thing when MPT had to avoid, so at least he's consistent. Personally I'd have gone all 4 back.

Yep all 4 back but no way  the away rider should of been excluded bit bumpy coming out of the home straight
