Glad its on BSN so we can see Nagel race, he should score loads of points as he is clearly better than most of the Redcar team.

Another great performance for the Bears. Hopefully they can dispatch Glasgow at home, Oxford in the KOC and the drunken sailors in the playoff semi! 👍

Shame Morris wasn't fit for this tonight as probably would have been an away win.

Not a great result, but it’s a win and all to play for tomorrow night.

Our team building strategy dictated that we just can’t afford for Harris and Howarth (I appreciate his was a retirement while third) to run last places. If they do, we need double figures from elsewhere.

Credit to Redcar as that’s a great result. Add that to the result at Poole and the Bears are looking at a strong end to the season.

I haven’t saw any team news, but I can only assume we’ll be missing Nagel tomorrow night to Danish commitments, Thompson to SGP2, Flint to German commitments and Perry to karate lessons. More guests than a Beckham wedding.

Lucky tomorrow has already been called off then.

Was great to see passionate away fans making some noise on the back straight, Redcar did what they needed to do, all their riders chipped in, special shout out to Ace he has been on some form recently and showed his improvement in that excellent heat 14, can't imagine him doing that last year.

Dan seemed low on power all night and Harris and Villads needed a few heats to get their equipment sorted (Villads seemed to find a rocketship between heat 6 and 8) which gave the Bears the advantage which was hard to claw back with the class of Wright and King.

Hopefully this is a bit of a kick up the backside for the tigers and they can show why they finished top of the league in all the return legs.

That was a fantastic meeting, Kyle unlucky to lose a chain chasing second place, Redcar reserves too strong for ours and Jody was better than his points. Both teams deserved to be on the truck at the end. If we don't get through in any of the competitions, I hope Redcar win.

Great stuff from Redcar tonight - I did say not to underestimate them! Heats 14/15 were sublime. Nice to Ace scoring well, Jody's coming along nicely, and Tate had a fine win in his second ride.

Glasgow didn't quite fully fire, and Redcar's team are hard to beat once ahead. No complaints, and it's still possible to win at Redcar in 2052 when the second leg finally comes round.

It was a mistake to give Redcar choice of gates in heat one though - starting the meeting giving Charles Wright the inside gate really set the tone in the opening heats. We were constantly chasing and we made hard work of it. Still, it's a win. "Only" need a draw now.

On to next Friday.

Redcar were excellent i must say I thought Glasgow were lucky to win imo.

Ace Pijper has really come on from last year not just at Redcar. Charles Wright looked classy and continued his best season form as usual when it matters.

Flint, Nagel were box office, not sure what happened to Bomber in Heat One? 13 and 15 he was in his own postcode will require more of that up against Poole on Tuesday.

Always a good night at Ashfield though!

The problem the Bears have is that most riders seem to like riding there. A couple of strange heat scores contributed to Glasgow's struggles it seems, Harris last in heat one and Nagel last in heat 6.

Main problem is I don't know much about track prep but our track seems much slicker since Meredith took over as track man .

That doesn't suit us since we have lost the ability to gate . But fair play to Redcar they are a solid side throughout and we got away with it last night to a certain extent
