Who cares who finishes top of the league as you win nothing for that!!!! Sheffield's defeat of Ipswich on Thursday wasn't just a victory, it was a complete drubbing. This Ipswich side weren't just "playing it safe," they've lost their bottle. Leicester will make mincemeat of this shower in the finals (and rightly so!) For finishing top of the table, contrary to popular belief, you DO win something: you win the honour and respect of everyone in the sport and a sense of pride in a job well done. For that, the riders, staff and fans of Sheffield Speedway can rightfully feel joy and satisfaction in their 2025 exertions. The annals of history will forever show that Sheffield were top of the heap in 2025, despite the crooked blunt-force play-off system that clearly fails to reflect the year-long performance and achievement. So who knows, given the present circumstances, 2025 may turn out to be Sheffield's swan-song. But if we don't come to the tapes in 2026 we'll at least be assured that we went out on top. 1

ouch
So after making up lies about Brady the Ipswich trolls then support their own team not bothering including one that couldn’t even be bothered to turn up. A clear indication of a troll is the elasticated morals and totally biased nonsense they trot out. Pick a lane and stick to it as you’d get more respect and appear less troll like if you didn’t yo-yo your opinions based on the riders involved. I presume you’re just looking for reaction all the time which in itself marks you out as a wrong ‘un. For all the true Witches fans I still hope you pull of the win that is needed after so so long but when I think of the riders, management and trolls I hope they lose big. Shame John Louis isn’t around as he would not put up with this. A true great that I had the good fortune to meet in the pits following the Superama at Hackney back in the 80’s. Top fella sadly missed.

A huge difference between not giving your team everything in a play off semi final as opposed to a nothing end of season filler Was obviously just done as a favour to Sheffield so that they didn't suffer financially from 1) having to secure the stadium as a reserve in case of the need to stage their leg of the play off semi or 2) being fined for not completing their fixtures I agree though that it is far from ideal and would look suspect under scrutiny if the sport was actively pursuing professional integrity and transparency
MP78
Am I right in thinking the cut-off for averages is 23rd of each month? If so, looks like Ellis and Dan T swap, so the latter is back at reserve for the Play off final

Emil is still at the top of the averages.
Steve0
I hope it is a good final over both legs with both teams capable of winning. Last year was too one sided with Leicester "running out of steam" at the end - probably because they had to wait to see who their opponents were and possibly race rusty. I would like to see Ipswich as champions because they built the best team this year and having lost out last year to injuries (and had significant injuries this year which could have affected them again), I think it would be a great result for them. I appreciate that the best team will be the one that wins over the two legs but In October, it is likely to be wet which will have an impact on performances. If Leicester win, I won't be unhappy I just think Ipswich have the edge this year.

John Louis loved Ipswich and would love to see Ipswich win as much as it pains you, but get over it. His name is adored in Ipswich and not just amongst speedway fans, he is a legend of the town and will be honoured in the Tigers meeting a week after the final. Why do you think John wouldn’t love Emil (most friendly guy in speedway) King and Doyle (dedicated to the witches), Ellis who he would have a laugh with, Brennan Edwards and Thompson who are bright young British riders which always made him smile.
