If I was Ipswich I would just go through the motions at Sheffield Thursday and let them win and not risk injuries on a nothing meeting. Who cares who finishes top of the league as you win nothing for that!!!!

Sheffield's defeat of Ipswich on Thursday wasn't just a victory, it was a complete drubbing. This Ipswich side weren't just "playing it safe," they've lost their bottle. Leicester will make mincemeat of this shower in the finals (and rightly so!)

For finishing top of the table, contrary to popular belief, you DO win something: you win the honour and respect of everyone in the sport and a sense of pride in a job well done. For that, the riders, staff and fans of Sheffield Speedway can rightfully feel joy and satisfaction in their 2025 exertions.

The annals of history will forever show that Sheffield were top of the heap in 2025, despite the crooked blunt-force play-off system that clearly fails to reflect the year-long performance and achievement. So who knows, given the present circumstances, 2025 may turn out to be Sheffield's swan-song. But if we don't come to the tapes in 2026 we'll at least be assured that we went out on top.

Remember the same system that worked wonders for you back in 2023?

So after making up lies about Brady the Ipswich trolls then support their own team not bothering including one that couldn’t even be bothered to turn up.

A clear indication of a troll is the elasticated morals and totally biased nonsense they trot out. Pick a lane and stick to it as you’d get more respect and appear less troll like if you didn’t yo-yo your opinions based on the riders involved. I presume you’re just looking for reaction all the time which in itself marks you out as a wrong ‘un.

For all the true Witches fans I still hope you pull of the win that is needed after so so long but when I think of the riders, management and trolls I hope they lose big. Shame John Louis isn’t around as he would not put up with this. A true great that I had the good fortune to meet in the pits following the Superama at Hackney back in the 80’s. Top fella sadly missed.

A huge difference between not giving your team everything in a play off semi final as opposed to a nothing end of season filler

Was obviously just done as a favour to Sheffield so that they didn't suffer financially from 1) having to secure the stadium as a reserve in case of the need to stage their leg of the play off semi or 2) being fined for not completing their fixtures

I agree though that it is far from ideal and would look suspect under scrutiny if the sport was actively pursuing professional integrity and transparency

Am I right in thinking the cut-off for averages is 23rd of each month?

If so, looks like Ellis and Dan T swap, so the latter is back at reserve for the Play off final

What about Doyley and Emil? Have they swapped too?🤞

Issue 26 published yesterday shows Dan switching back to reserve.

Emil is still at the top of the averages.

I hope it is a good final over both legs with both teams capable of winning.  Last year was too one sided with Leicester "running out of steam" at the end - probably because they had to wait to see who their opponents were and possibly race rusty.

I would like to see Ipswich as champions because they built the best team this year and having lost out last year to injuries (and had significant injuries this year which could have affected them again), I think it would be a great result for them.  I appreciate that the best team will be the one that wins over the two legs but In October, it is likely to be wet which will have an impact on performances.

If Leicester win, I won't be unhappy I just think Ipswich have the edge this year.

To speak about John Louis and that he wouldn’t put up with management, riders and fans is such a pathetic comment and you need to wash your mouth out. John Louis loved Ipswich and would love to see Ipswich win as much as it pains you, but get over it. His name is adored in Ipswich and not just amongst speedway fans, he is a legend of the town and will be honoured in the Tigers meeting a week after the final. Why do you think John wouldn’t love Emil (most friendly guy in speedway) King and Doyle (dedicated to the witches), Ellis who he would have a laugh with, Brennan Edwards and Thompson who are bright young British riders which always made him smile.

No you didn’t …. You weren’t the best team

That’s Ipswich or Leicester

Didn’t see your mob complaining when you came THIRD in 2023 but won the play offs

A set of deluded whinging fans

Absolute comical again

Please answer these two questions

1. What did Ipswich have to race for Thursday night ? Nothing

2. What did Kurtz have to race for in THE LEAGUE SEMI FINAL TO GET HIS TEAM TO THE FINAL?

Oops sorry I wrote that in capitals … only you must be a bit on the slow side to realise these two instances were the same

Blame the league for having a play off semi final before the league is finished

You have serious issues im afraid

And your comments about John Louis shows you to be even more of a plum then we all first thought

Interview with a troll.

Ouch: I see Emil couldn’t be bothered on last night.

Dimwit troll: Never mind Emil, what about Kurtz?

Ouch: What about him?

Dimwit troll: He didn’t bother trying in the semi final!

Ouch: He had an off night, it happens.

Dimwit troll: Off night! He didn’t even try. Four points from your number one, disgraceful.

Ouch: Your number one scored four points.

Dimwit troll: He had an off night.

Ouch: He really did as Brady beat him twice supposedly without even trying.

Dimwit troll: He wasn’t trying.

Ouch: So our number ones can score four each but you decide that one wasn’t trying.

Dimwit troll: Yes, got a problem with that, you saddo?

Ouch: That’s illogical.

Dimwit troll: Dan and Emil had off nights but Kurtz wasn’t trying, you should ask him for your money back.

Ouch: And what about the cup?

Dimwit troll: He had an off night.

Ouch: Right ok, he rides bad at the same track in the same season and you decide one was an off night and one he wasn’t trying?

Dimwit troll: Yes, he’s a wrong un!

Ouch: That’s illogical. Anyway way would he not try?

Dimwit troll: He was about to ride in the most important meeting of his career up to that point. To be honest, I don’t blame him for not trying.

Ouch: Brady isn’t the type of rider not to try for his team.

Dimwit troll: Rubbish, you’ll never convince me otherwise. All riders would do it. Mercenaries.

Ouch: You do realise that only eleven months before the semi final Brady rode “in the most important meeting of his career up to that point”, the GP challenge.

Dimwit troll: I didn’t know that but I can imagine his score, the disgrace.

Ouch: He score a paid maximum for The Aces.

Dimwit troll: Oh!

Ouch: So why didn’t he score low due to not trying as you said any rider would do that but he didn’t.

Dimwit troll: He didn’t try in the semi final but he did in the final last year.

Ouch: You’re illogical.

Dimwit troll: Don’t care what you say, you can shove your facts, you troll.

The Ouch post is very complimentary with regard to John Louis. But you then you go off on a rant which is largely irrelevant to his/her post. You might want to read your reply before posting such bitter, confrontational (juvenile?) responses. A Witches fan with a chip on their shoulder, now there’s a thing!

When you write “John Louis would not put up with this” what part is complimentary or respectful for that matter ? Incase you’re  a bit slow, his son is running things, so don’t speak like his dad wouldn’t be proud of him and his son’s achievements. It’s really not that difficult to understand. Also, to say I’ve got a chip on my shoulder makes no sense, why would I have a chip in my shoulder over speedway 😂 it’s not that deep.
