Just a couple of points.
Ad window
Peak hours (6 PM–11 PM): Up to an average of 8 minutes per hour, but no more than 12 minutes in any one hour.
Daily average No more than 7 minutes of advertising per hour averaged across the entire broadcasting day.
Demographics.
Employed folk aged 40-49 have the highest median average annual pay circa £40k
Boomers aged 61 - 70 Have a median average annual income  circa £33.
Not sure where your Commercial manager is looking for his averages but it is highly doubtful that average pay of a netball viewer is £55k per year. and similarly, to say speedway fans are to old, and too poor to appeal to mainstream brands is complete and utter misguided nonsense.

Mainstream brands have a very clear understanding that older folk such as boomers may indeed have less income having retired but, they do have considerable disposable income and less fixed outgoings then the younger set, given that they have done with paying mortgages, Kids have flown the nest and believe it or not, now have time on their hands to follow leisure & entertainment activities.

All of the above doesn't detract from the fact that speedway promoters have for many years failed to engage in any significant activity at local and national level to greatly improve awareness of the sport.  Frankly, highlights or full meetings on TV will not make any difference whatsoever to attendance at tracks as the only folk who will watch the program are those who already know the sport exists.

I asked the questions and was told the figures are supplied by BARB which the ad agencies use to evaluate the reach and value of audiences as they develop throughout commercial TV programmes. Its the industry standard apparently. The person in question has work in broadcast media as Advertisement Sales Manager including Sky Sports when they had the rights to Speedway so I would expect understands the figures he quoted.

He may well understand them. But nevertheless is incorrect in this instance.

I will stand by the figures I quoted. Netball has the highest level of income per viewer of any sport broadcast in the UK. It attracts 1.5 to 3 times the live viewers of speedway. The figures that are quoted for speedway incude non UK streaming on Discovery+ whcih should not be included in a like for like comparison.

To be fair there is something you can get watching netball that you can't get watching most speedway!🤣

I wonder what the costs/benefits/usefulness/viability is of making BSN available on a linear network (Sky/Virgin Media) would be, maybe in conjunction with a betting company. Similar to Racing TV

I remember a couple of years ago there was a lot of adverse comment about the quality of the Racing tv stuff especially when compared with Sky Racing. Not sure if it's been addressed since and I've no idea how the BSN coverage would across on these platforms.

I think it's a good idea

Just lost the UEFA Champions League Rights from 2027, That'll be a lot of funds freed up.

What are the chances of them coming back to the table if we get a 6 Team PREM?

Paramount+ won the auction for Champions League rights from 2027.  Some reports say Paramount are now preparing a takeover bid for WBD (which obviously includes TNT)

They will loose a lot of customers dew to not having bid high enough to get it again so people will change to whoever has the rights I think  they will loose a lot of money from this

Agree.

Barely anyone is going to keep TNT just for 1 Premier League Lunchtime Kick-Off on a Saturday.

The Paramount deal has come as a great surprise to Everyone in the broadcast industry. WBD were already planning an exit from UK satellite broadcasting and move just to Dmax online but with no CL subscribers will be lost and need to review pricing.

i wouldn’t be surprised if there  is some commercial bulk deal for Paramount CBS Sport to be included in Sky Sports subscription as realistically cannot see consumers paying for

Sky Sports

Paramount

Netflix

Disney +

Prime
Discovery/Dmax

You would be looking at £200 a month which is out of reach for most people

Wasn't so long ago when they took over EUROSPORT.

Since then, All TNT have done is lose broadcasting rights all over the place.

Except for the Ashes Series and Rugby Union Internationals! ps I don't have TNT.

Interesting they have gone for sports watched mainly by those in the AB socio-economic groups...

More disposable income maybe?

Presume more "high end" advertisers come on board too...

As it stands TNT's only real selling point from 2027 onwards is a Lunchtime PL Kick-Off.

If they do get bought out by Paramount, (and you would have to think their value drops hugely with losing this contract), Paramount would get a bargain..

Possibly part of Paramount's thinking when they bid so much?
