Still a 40 point limit but teams are only allowed one rider over an 8 point average.

Well there were 12 riders exceeding an 8 point average. What happens to the other 3 if still 9 Championship teams and they all want a team place ?

Howarth, Nicholls and Kemp would all be under 8 after reduction, so would leave 9 riders from last year over 8.

Yeah but they will finish 2025 over 8 no. I have questions whether the reduction should come into this for reasons of fairness. I don't even see the logic behind why they would want to impose this 1 rider over 8 proposal anyway ?. Should be able to build a team within the team building points limit as you choose.

Was something I questioned as well but was told that it’s whatever they will be starting 2026 so they are including reductions. Don’t agree with the duo either agree with what you say should be allowed to build how you want as long as it’s within the limit.

No idea bearing in mind we haven't had the AGM .

As you know there's been several meetings to agree to whatever the rules are for 2026, the AGM is where these decisions are officially voted on and passed, but I believe in the past things have changed when the vote was counted and they had to go down another route

When Newcastle were still running in 2022, during one of our last ever home meetings, the opposition Manager said that one rider over an 8pt average per team would be fairer to the likes of Newcastle as he actually felt sorry for us.  His team had two over the 8pt average in the team at the time.

Glasgow with all the money they could need complaining that the 1 rider over 8 rule is unfair.

Scunthorpe who maybe have less money are more than likely going to be happy by this rule.

I thunk the rules makes sense to the competition as a whole as realistically to make more teams competing and then therefore elevate all crowds up and down as apposed to just the good ones.

I understand why people may loan at it for the big boys but I think for the league itself it will make it more competitive.

If you weaken the product with only 1 rider over 8 points, as the season goes on the riders on say 7 point average have less 8 point riders to come up against, then there average goes up, by the end of the season you have more riders over 8 points, then what are you going to do to move forward ?

Precisely, leaving another headache for the following year

It’s a vicious circle though the less average riders are being more sought after therefore can hold to ransom for better terms.I also believe that certain riders “ look after” their average so as not to do themselves out of Team place the next season.

Suits Poole, hinders Glasgow.

All feels very familiar from several moons ago!

Anyone would think that the Promoter of the bottom club has a greater say than the others at BSPL meetings?!  OH hang on...................!?
