TheWellBehavedWorrall
Huge signing for Poole, bringing Cook back. It pains me to say it, but his performance at Ashfield in the play-off final was a captain’s performance. The resilience to bounce back from being bullied by Howarth in heat seven and passed by Harris in heat fifteen to win it for the Pirates in the race-off was remarkable. Excited for the season ahead. The Championship is shaping up to be competitive. Edited December 16, 2025 by TheWellBehavedWorrall
Gavan
Poole have done well to get a side close to Glasgows and Oxford definitely play offs at least Rushen is a great rider but I expect his away average to be better than the home one… he isn’t the greatest trapper in the world and if Poole is going to be the same crap boring track as last season he may find it tough at home Saw it at Ipswich last season when riders got out the gate before him he struggled to get past on a track that doesn’t produce much passing Glasgow and Oxford have stronger top 5’s then Poole but the reserves can make the difference

TTT
Huge move in getting Zach back, Him and Rushen make Poole one of the favourites again. Not convinced on the engine room but that's ok because of a powerful 1 & 5 as well as reserve pairing.

Lawson was the best rider in the league last year, we don’t know how the unknown Glasgow riders will fare, happy to have Zach over Rowe and Howarth. Bowes outscored Mitch Mcdimrd last year. A fully fit Riss trumps Kerr and Flint but will he be fit? Killeen Gilkes and the new German are all close on paper. Certainly happy with the Poole team and happy that the league is looking more competitive, not seen a wooden spoon team just yet.

On pure 2025 averages (across all meetings) alone, Mitch was higher... 6.18 - Mitchell McDiarmid 5.68 - Fraser Bowes Do you think Bowes will improve more than McDiarmid in 2026 - at a new home track, whereas Mitch is at the same track as in 2025? I can't it even see it being close in Mitch's favour. Each to their own though. Edited December 17, 2025 by Bojangles

The Poole team does look handy, but I'm not thinking 26 is going to be easy. Redcar is looking particularly strong imo, Glasgow and Oxford are there or thereabouts, but others like say Plymouth have real strengths too. Should make for a competitive season, with close matches, can't wait.

If Mitch can learn how to ride his home track better, his average could rise by 2+ points imo. Being an Aussie, I'd kind of expect Workington to suit Bowes more than Poole would, so think his average could even drop!

Kind of generalising Aussies into a type there and also the Worky manager last season told Bowes before he'd been to Poole that it was a type of track that would suit him. He done well the first time riding at Poole and absolutely shocking the second time. Bowes isn't as good as some here think. He had 2 or 3 very good home performances but other than that, he was awful. I watched him at Edinburgh and the guy looked like he'd never rode a bike before
