If Cooper thought the Poole track was as bad as the Poole haters think,why would he go there.Not short of offers I’m sure. Best of luck to him looks areal talent.

He has gone there as he must love a pound note. Poole must be the biggest payers along with Glasgow in that league.

Glasgow is too far from Essex every week so Poole was the obvious choice.

Don't think Poole are big payers, Anders Rowe can probably vouch for that, it's more like a well run club, with good sponsors, no your going to get paid on time, and are always there or there abouts , when the trophies are handed out

Not sure riders worry about where their teams are located, Harris rides for Kings Lynn and Glasgow and lives in Rugby.

The problem you have is unless you are a top 10% talent which Bob and Joe both are/were you get on a bad run and have confidence smashed where if you can end up a big fish in a smaller pond for a couple of years whilst training up you can then move up with more confidence things will work out.

I've never seen Cairns ride but given he pretty much doubled his average in year one that's all anyone can ask of the lad, but I do agree with this next crop of youngsters smashing their confidence early doors is not the way to go.

No, they've signed him for the greater good of Poole speedway, they are not training and developing riders for the grater good of British speedway or the riders themselves.

Why would they? Their only goal is to assemble a winning team. And being part of a winning team is essential development. What more are you suggesting they do?

Your talking about a  completely different Era though.Not remotely near the same standard of riders about..🤔

Train up local riders in the hope of making them professional speedway riders..

If all clubs took this attitude we wouldn't be producing any riders for the future.

The burden should be placed on the league, not the individual team. This is not Formula 1. Clubs cannot be expected to fund and maintain their own individual development teams. The best thing a club can do for the sport is to put on the best performance they can with the budget they have.

Michael Lee was brilliant when he started at 16.

Regarding the young riders, a lot of teams have a NDL team or a junior team being ran in the Northern or midland junior league, thus helping local youngsters start and progress through the levels of the sport. But it appears Poole don't have this, then use ££s to encourage the youngsters to join them. 

Even when Poole put the youngsters meeting on last season Paul starke was riding in the event 🤔

All this what Poole do and don’t do is  regarding youngsters just getting tedious.After all they gave Vinnie a chance and Worky have benefited from that.Didn’t see you thanking them.
