Poole 2026

Recommended Posts

Early doors I know, but based on previous years the Fords start building their side for the following season I believe around July.

Does anyone know what the cut off for GSA's is for season end. Is it based on riders GSA on completion of the regular season 14 fixtures or do the play offs go into the calculation. I always thought it was based on completion of the actual fixtures (i.e 14).

Would have thought they would try to secure Lawson/Cairns/Rushen/Lightcap as a base and try to get Kennett & Jenkins on their 5 point av as arguably both can improve (especially around Poole).

I make it 34.98 with 2.5% Brit reduction leaving 5.02.

Going to be a difficult jugglinmg act having to lose approx 4.57 points from the current team point total for 2027 and maybe higher with 2 H & 2 A matches to go in regular fixtures.

I know they've spoken to another heat leader and another rider, both of whom have guested this season.

For 2027 for every team a lot will depend if Poland carry out the threat of riders in the top 2 divisions being able to ride in  one other league . For example take the rocket man or cairns , rode in Poland Denmark and both UK leagues, 2 will have to be dropped

Whats Beau Bailey come in on ? if they got him on a five them would steam roll the league even more than they have done this year.

Cairns didn't do Denmark

If Poland carry out the threat, the championship will be watered down even more

Thought I'd seen a score for him in Denmark, but maybe not, but you know what I'm saying about the possibility of the polish rule. And for once this is not a dig at Poole, it's an example of what may happen in 2027

Not sure Rocketman will have Poland in his 2027 sights? Not being paid is a big issue for riders - despite what Polish contracts state!!!

I would think 5. But I also thought Slater would’ve been a 5 and he was a 4

Lawson Cairns Rushen Slater Beau Kennet Jenkins would be solid through out but potentially light in H13/15

I always like having a big 1/5 like they’ve done the last few years, so wouldn’t mind a Danny King? And then maybe young Southwick at reserve

That 1-7 you have listed assuming points limit is the same as this year and no injuries would absolutely blitz the championship in 2027.

God knows how i forgot to factor in Bailey considering i was going on about signing him all through last close season.

Believe he would be on a 5 riding POL U24 and D.enmark. Has done odd ride in POL Exl for Grudiatz but hopefully they would not punish him as a 6 pointer for that.

I think only way Bailey rides UK in 2027 is if he getsw a double up with a Prem team to make it worthwhile, then he can continue POL U24 on a Tue and combine Prem & Champ, but that would mean he would have to give up Denmark where he seems to have become first choice over Villads Pedersen. The other issue is if Grudiatz want to load him our to a POL EXL2 side where it may preclude him from doing 2 leagues in UK and then does he choosde DK over UK.

Plenty to ponder on during the close season.

Still none the wiser on what basis the final GSA is based on though. Actual fixtures (14) or plus the play offs

Play offs don't count towards the final gsas. Not sure that the ko cup does either? Just league and bsn.

Throws up names like Zischke maybe who I think will kick on from next season and with doubts on if Workington will carry on - Morris who has also guested and still below what he can achieve being good at Poole and as previously mentioned Jenkins and/or Kennett - both Southern based I believe and both ridden well guesting for Poole.

Please just don't bring back Bowes. Enough evidence to show he did not progress in POL or Swe and for me even a fit Bowes doesnt have the scope of Lightcap being 5 years older and many seasons more in Europe going backwards in development.

Doesn't narrow it down a huge amount tbh. Everyone will think of the more recent guests, but some of the earlier ones include Harris and Edwards. However unlikely!

I was surprised when in John Campbell's interview in the Speedway Star that he said no current Championship teams were interested in going into tier one..

Next years standard in tier two could be a lot different if the "two league" rule comes in..

The better teams, like Poole, and their fans, have been used to seeing top tier heat leaders riding for them, which may no longer be the case, and that could be a difficult sell, and also difficult to price point, with a reduction on current prices unlikely I would think...

The other scenario could be though that, if the top tier increases their standard with more "Top 20" riders coming in, then maybe some DU'ers may elect to stay in tier two given their earning potential in tier one could be threatened by an increase in better riders...

It will interesting to see how it goes...
