Calm down Lewy. Nothing snidey about the comment (unless you feel guilty and its a bit too close to home of course). Most clubs make cash payments to helpers/volunteers on the night. Ask Tom Jones....It's Not Unusual

😇

I note Oxford have re-introduced cash payments too.

Haven't heard of many clubs paying volunteers for the volunteer work they do 😲  most people  do it for the love of the sport, some may get a snack/drink as thanks . Many volunteers I know at worky also sponser the team in some form or another,  or even pay the admission money to the club.  But obviously money bags Poole may do something different 😜

So Plymouth and some other clubs must have other reasons for preferring  cash and cards then?!

There is usually so little on Plymouth threads I merely posted what the Plymouth Instagram put out, plus a possibility ie a 'maybe' why they might be doing it?!  Maybe it's guest riders that are insisting on cash in hand? Keep digging the 'hole' Wayne.🤑

Plymouth fans do not feel the need to post all the time on bsf unlike Poole. We've had a couple of poor results but we are not clammering for team  changes unlike Poole. We have alot of positives this season but do not feel the need to put it on the bsf unlike Poole. That is just a few reasons why we have a quiet thread  which I see as a positive and when I see the garbage certain Poole fans post on their thread it most definitely is. Over and out.

I seem to recall a fair bit of clamouring to drop Spencer, but hey ho, each to their own.

Yes it saves paying 3rd party booking streams or banks a high percentage to process your money, it's not rocket science

Not only that, but with a business account the bank charge you to pay in cash, take out cash, every card transaction and every deposit or ATM transaction, so not even cash is free from bankers greed ( if it goes into the system)

Currently with my business account if I pay in £1000 cash it costs me £7.50p, if I get outside the bank ( what bank is still open)and decide I do not need the £1000 cash after all and pay it back in , it costs another £7.50p, so end up £15 down for nowt, if we can all take cash, pay out in cash, we cut the greedy b****rds out !

Santander was the last bastion of free business banking, but no longer £10.90 admin charge every month, .90p every cheque deposit ATM or card transaction, and fees for paying in cash which now is largely done with your card at the post office as they have shut most of their branches !!

Fact is Plymouth fans have the hardest grafter @ the helm in Mark Phillips so if they are able to help Mark in any way they are happy to do so. Up the Gladiators!

I know clubs try to be positive, but thought this Plymouth FB post is far off the mark!

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Ea6F22vx8/

Plymouth’s weekend of three meetings in three days ended without a league point, but the bigger picture is not as bleak as the raw results suggest. The Gladiators came through a difficult run at Edinburgh, Berwick and Redcar with their play-off hopes still intact, and with several sides above them having games in hand, the Championship race remains finely balanced.

I think the weekend was far bleaker for their play-off hopes than they admit.

The Friday defeat at Armadale set the tone for the weekend. Edinburgh won 52-38 to strengthen their position in the top three, and the scoreline also saw them take the aggregate point.

Taken together, it was a weekend that showed both the challenge and the opportunity facing the Gladiators. The challenge is clear enough: Plymouth have completed 12 meetings, more than Redcar, Glasgow, Edinburgh or Poole, and that means the sides around them all still have extra chances to build points. Poole, in particular, have only raced six meetings and are almost certain to finish comfortably inside the top four.

That leaves Plymouth chasing more realistically after Redcar, with Glasgow also in the conversation if their form dips.

Not sure why they're talking about catching Redcar or Glasgow, Glasgow look safe, Redcar won't make it & they've completely forgotten about Scunthorpe.

The encouraging part for the Gladiators is that they have already banked league points, plus two aggregate bonus points, and they have shown they can compete with sides in and around them.

Not sure the point they're making, that sounds like team near the bottom, saying they're not so bad?

Wins against Redcar and Scunthorpe, along with that close-fought meeting with Edinburgh, are reminders that the league table does not tell the full story.

When it comes to pride in your performance or enjoyment, of course the league table doesn't tell the full story, but that won't help them make the play-offs.

The remaining run-in gives Plymouth a route back into the race. Home meetings against Poole, Workington and Glasgow are still to come, along with the away trip to Poole, and those fixtures will go a long way to deciding whether the season finishes with a place in the play-offs or a frustrating near miss. The challenge now becomes turning the promise shown in patches into the points needed on the board.

After a weekend like this, there is no escaping the fact that Plymouth need a strong finish. But the hope is still there, and the next few meetings will tell us whether the Gladiators can make it count when the season reaches its decisive stage.

To me this post would make perfect sense if the top 5 or 6 made the play-offs?

Nobody cares what you think,at Plymouth we maintain a positive vibe and dismiss negativity, that is working for us in general and we will maintain a glass half full attitude and  look forward to the rest of the season

Do you think this would have been better for their business?

"Well, that's it! After this weekend we clearly have bugger all chance of making the play offs, so it is hardly worth even bothering coming to watch us now"...

If so, the BSP could use you...:D

Plymouth are one of the "good news" stories this season and have made loads of positive moves, not least moving from the "graveyard night" for the entertainment sector, (Tuesday), and moving to Saturday's, which is the biggest night for it...

They are obviously trying to maintain that positive message, which, in this social media era is absolutely paramount to engage punters to attend...

The "truth" is often largely irrelevant these days in communication to those watching, and putting a positive spin in everything you put out into the public domain, is 100% the way to go...
