Workington 2026

Would not have necessarily been my choice of riders to re-sign after an inconsistent 2025... But hopefully 2026 will be the year he pushes on!

(And I would have been nervous if he was riding against us! šŸ˜‚)

The way Speedway works, I'd have been desperate for Tate to return, because he had a disappointing year.

I knew tate was guaranteed after the post season presentation night.Ā

He's promised us new equipment, and riding for less clubs. Hopefully the increased periods of rest and better equipment will see him return to his best.

Riding for less clubs.. wonder if he's giving the Prem (???) a miss next year?

He did look low on confidence for BV at times this year.

Was he based in Workington this year, or another fly in fly out?

I think he lived with one of the members of the supporters club committee in the middle of Workington, which was only a mile from the track, so hopefully he can arrange that again in 2026.

Think the polish U24 league is being revamped, so potentially less time flying in and out of Poland for these Tuesday matchesĀ

And also provides opportunities to pick up riders like Heisselberg and West who will probably no longer be involved.

It's a good signing, although I thought they might wait til after the Aussie season to announce it, bearing in mind how injury-prone he has been.

I dont think he's injury prone at all. I reckon 100% of the riders involved in the incidents he has would come out the same way.

Was he not living in a home that is rented by comets? Sure there were a few of them living in same house

He is a good young exciting rider, accidents are going to happen. I would think he is capable of increasing his average a little.

Ā question is now who Ā next .?

i would think Ā hook but he Ā wouldnt be at reserve like last year which is a Ā big Ā risk Ā i wouldnt have back as much as i would like him back , as based Ā on his avrg Ā as he would be in the main Ā body

A weaker league, doesn’t matter if he’s in the main body he’ll still get the points needed. I’d have him back, in fact, he’d have been the first on my team sheet.

People were itching to sign Pedersen after 1 meeting, in atrocious conditions on a track that isn’t like the usual track. I’d rather have Jacob back due to his experience on the tracks over here and he is good at home.Ā
Ā

If we’re talking about not having riders back, one I would swerve now is Vuolas. Yes he’s brilliant at northside, but so inconsistent away. That’s what cost us valuable points last season, he’s supposed to be one of the big hitters in the team and he looked more like a number 8 at times.

I was thinking about something along similar lines.Ā

If hes on fire at the start of the seaon, on that average, he'll be popular as a guest. Which again increases the chances of injury

Being in Preston, I wondered last year if I could have been of any use collecting from MAN or LPL airport

Maybe ask promotion or supporters club if assistance is needed .

But it isn't a weaker league!

The points limit is still 40.00, same as we started with last season.

It is up to the clubs, the team managers, etc, to construct their side up to this limit.

But it won't be weaker.

Of course if will be weaker. The par will always be 42.. An average team that started the season with a GSA of 40 will over the course of the season rise to 42 as 2024 scores are replaced by 2025 scores.
