What difference does it make?

If they name the No.1 a week before the first fixture, or if they named him last November, none of the team are going to be riding until the first meeting at the end of March.    It's going to be the same 7 riders regardless of whether they were declared yesterday or tomorrow.

In any case, we all know who it is.   My guess is that since he lives in the UK for the majority of the year, they are perhaps waiting for him to be free to hold a social night with him  (just a guess).

Who exactly are you defying if you pick and choose meetings?  It's the same team and same meeting regardless of whether you are there or not.  Just sounds like cutting your nose off because you had a hissy fit months previously.

 

Similar with the new Ipswich owners.   If they are making sure they have all their ducks in a row before revealing a full team, then good on them.   Name the team last week or name the team next week, you're not going to see them race until the end of March, so it makes sense to make sure everything is perfect for March.

That’s what I saw too but I remember his average being a bone of contention back then, especially when it came to his eligibility to guest.

Cant see this one happening for a few reasons, but if it does it’ll be interesting to see what average he’s given and whether it’ll be reassessed.

I’ve just re read the last update statement.

All it said was that the sale was agreed subject to contract. No further update until it had going though but expected in the coming weeks. No hint of a two week deadline so not sure where that came from.

Just out of interest when do Pavitt Louis & Western compete the take over the last time we were sold in 89? I have a feeling that was quite late on.

Get what you are saying that you don't see the riders untill the 1st meeting, but before that you have to sell the team and fixtures to potential sponsors and season tickets buyers, so the sooner things are confirmed the more time you've got to sell the experience.
