Brennan has been dropped from the match day team but still in the squad as they have too many “players”, similar thing happened at Rybnik last year. Brennan is getting £2,000 a match to be sidelined though!

It just feels like everyone is biding time now. Unfortunately British Speedway is bit like the Doctor is administering morphine to the patient but he can't get the dose right At some point he'll overload the syringe and speedway in Britain is a goner!

Hence we have the same old, same old, each season, without any desire to change anything for the better.. It seems some Ipswich fans have gone from the joy of victory, to apathy in just a few short months.. Not great for a sport to engender such feelings is it?

In reality we were never going to Emil and Jason in the same team. It's still a competitive team in my eyes and we've won 5 out of 7. I accept that we should not accept mediocrity, and certainly in the early 2000s we had some poor sides at Ipswich. However, the sport must come first and we go back to basics. The sports current administrators are playing the violins on the deck as the water level is rising and it simply cannot continue. When some of my fellow Ipswich supporters moan, just think of those who no longer have a team or track.

Aries
Can he do any worse than Bangs has up to now? Possibly! But it’s a pretty low bar let’s be honest. Bangs has been utter crap. BUT, I’m not convinced now that Bangs is returning. The rumour was there, and now he’s “ill” for 28 days? Just what kind of illness does he have? If he’s not coming back either by his choice of the promotion/manager, then you’d hope they could come up with a better replacement than someone who has been out of the game for a while. It does give them 28 days though to have a good look around and do a deal with someone if Kennett doesn’t score many/any points I guess. Baldyman
It says if Bangs is still available after the 28 days he could slot back in,, more to this than meets the eye. As for Kennet, what's the worst that could happen,, he could be poor,,, but if he has re found his love for speedway, he may just be okay,, let's hope it's not like when Bridger returned

Away should be problematic though. But hey, who knows! Hopefully he surprises us..

TTT
HOT TAKE! Kennett will fill his boots at reserve once dialled in, I think this is a different situation to Lewis Bridger who returned to the Sport with a bulky physique. Kennett has always been a decent gater and a better performer on the smaller tracks, The team is very British with a lot of familiar faces as far as Ed is concerned so he should have no problem settling in. Hellstrom-Bangs to me has been awful, Literally no excuse to score 1+1 or 2+1 away from Foxhall in every meeting when you consider his competition at reserve in every meeting, When I last saw him at the NSS in the SoN he was full of heart, determination and an all out entertainer, I haven't seen any of that in Ipswich colours and he's looked a completely different rider. Finally for the eleventh hundredth time, Why wasn't Jonas Jeppesen signed? Failure to act sharpish has probably cost us the League imo because Sheffield aren't great and Belle Vue will struggle without Bewley whoever they get in. Baldyman
Trust me, I would love it to be a success story,, just like I wanted Crump to be, I love nostalgia and would love to watch a team or meeting of Golden greats. I just don't think it happens very often where someone has been away from the cutting edge competition and made a great success. Also he was already on the slide a fair bit when he last raced at this level, but like you say,, with Scott and Hurry and Danny, it will be like being around old mates. I hope he atleast beats the RS riders regularly. Also as mentioned, not moving for JJ was a big mistake, especially if they already knew things were going south with Bangs

Odds On
I think some need to realise the position Ed is filling, would appear some would only be happy with the signing of Doyle or Emil.
Aries
3 minutes ago, Odds On said: I think some need to realise the position Ed is filling, would appear some would only be happy with the signing of Doyle or Emil. Don’t be daft. It was the duo you mentioned not returning leaving Ipswich with very little top end strength, that made the signing of a strong number 6 imperative if the team was to be successful. It was hoped that Bangs would have been that trump card on a 4.5 average, but it hasn’t materialised. We’ve covered him ok so far and made the cup final, but we’ll be underdogs against Leicester, and up against it to finish in the play offs without that number 6 position being filled sufficiently. No chance of winning it IF we got there. The rumour originally was Thorssell on a reduced 4.5 average. Perhaps that could be revisited..
